The ABT constitutes 4 types of exercises including: cardio-fitness, resistance, postural\u002Fweightbearing and functional exercises. TransCutaneous Spinal Cord Stimulation (TCSCS) stimulates spinal networks in the cervical region to neuro-modulate the descending motor commands\u002Fmotor intentions from the brain, which control the muscles. In tCSCS, electrical stimulation is delivered at a frequency of 30-50Hz at 500-1000µs between C3-C7. 12 sessions of ABT (4 weeks), followed by 28 sessions of ABT-TCSCS (7 weeks). Each session will last 1 hour and delivered 3 times per week.",[9],null,[21],{"name":22,"affiliation":23,"role":24},"Sukhvinder Kalsi-Ryan","Toronto Rehabilitation Institute","PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",[26,32],{"name":27,"role":28,"phone":29,"phoneExt":30,"email":31},"Urvashy Gopaul, PhD","CONTACT","416-597-3422","7996","urvashy.gopaul@uhn.ca",{"name":33,"role":28,"phone":34,"phoneExt":35,"email":36},"Gita Gholamrezaei","416-597-3422 .","6209","gita.gholamrezaei@uhn.ca",[38],{"facility":23,"status":39,"city":40,"state":41,"zip":42,"country":43,"countryCode":44,"cosmosGeoPoint":45,"geoPoint":50,"contacts":51},"RECRUITING","Toronto","Ontario","M4G 3V9","Canada","CA",{"type":46,"coordinates":47},"Point",[48,49],-79.39864,43.70643,{"lat":49,"lon":48},[52,54],{"name":53,"role":28,"phone":29,"phoneExt":35,"email":36},"Gita Gholamrezaei, PhD",{"name":27,"role":55,"phone":19,"phoneExt":19,"email":19},"SUB_INVESTIGATOR",{"type":24,"investigatorFullName":22,"investigatorTitle":57,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":19,"oldOrganization":19},"Lead of the KITE Rehabilitation and Innovation Clinics-Lyndhurst Site",[59],{"name":60,"class":6},"Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation","100552430","activity-based-therapy-and-transcutaneous-spinal-cord-stimulation-after-spinal-cord-injury-abt-tcscs-100552430",false,"NCT06472986","Activity-Based Therapy and Transcutaneous Spinal Cord Stimulation After Spinal Cord Injury (ABT-TCSCS)","Feasibility and Efficacy of Activity-Based Therapy and Transcutaneous Spinal Cord Stimulation for Neurorestoration of Upper Limbs After Cervical Spinal Cord Injury","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Individuals with chronic traumatic and non-traumatic cervical SCI (ASIA classification A-incomplete\\*\\*, B, C, D) between C1-C8\n* Adults more than 18 years old\n* At least 6 months post-spinal cord injury\n* A score of 2 - 15 on the upper extremity motor score of the ISNCSCI\n* A score between 5 - 40 on GRASSP Version 1 Strength on at least one side\n* Individuals who are medically stable\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Individuals with any other upper extremity deficit\n* Unable to provide informed consent\n* Unable to participate in an intensive rehabilitation outpatient program\n* Spasticity that limits the range of motion greater than 50% for the elbow or wrist","ALL","18 Years",{"count":71,"type":72},24,"ESTIMATED","INTERVENTIONAL",[75],"NA","The ABT-TCSCS study investigates how feasible and beneficial are activity-based therapy and transcutaneous spinal cord stimulation on improving of arm and hand recovery after cervical spinal cord injury.",[78,79],"Spinal Cord Injuries","Spinal Cord Injury Cervical",[81,82,83],"stroke","cerebrovascular accident","CVA","2024-07-07",{"date":86,"type":87},"2024-07-09","ACTUAL",{"date":89,"type":87},"2022-10-07",{"date":91,"type":72},"2027-06-30",{"name":5,"class":6},1]
