The training program will last 12 weeks, performed in 3 weekly sessions lasting 60 minutes each. Aerobic exercise, lasting between 20-30 minutes, will be conducted on a treadmill or stationary bike at an intensity ranging from 75-85% of the maximal heart rate (HR), based on the cardiopulmonary exercise testing. Resistance training, lasting 30 minutes, will include 8 to 10 exercises performed in 3 sets of 10 to 12 maximum repetitions with 1-minute intervals, targeting major muscle groups of the upper and lower limbs, with loads corresponding to 80-90% of the 10-repetitions maximum (RM).",[9],[25],{"name":26,"affiliation":27,"role":28},"Juliana Borges, PhD","Rio de Janeiro State University","PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",[30],{"name":26,"role":31,"phone":32,"phoneExt":33,"email":34},"CONTACT","+55212234","0775","juliana.borges@uerj.br",[36],{"facility":27,"status":37,"city":38,"state":38,"zip":39,"country":40,"countryCode":41,"cosmosGeoPoint":42,"geoPoint":47,"contacts":48},"RECRUITING","Rio de Janeiro","20550-900","Brazil","BR",{"type":43,"coordinates":44},"Point",[45,46],-43.18223,-22.90642,{"lat":46,"lon":45},[49,53],{"name":50,"role":31,"phone":51,"phoneExt":18,"email":52},"Juliana P Borges, PhD","55 21 25620775","julipborges@gmail.com",{"name":54,"role":31,"phone":55,"phoneExt":18,"email":56},"Gabriella O Lopes","55 21 979576950","gabriella.olopes@hotmail.com",{"type":28,"investigatorFullName":58,"investigatorTitle":59,"investigatorAffiliation":27,"oldNameTitle":18,"oldOrganization":18},"Juliana Pereira Borges","Principal investigator",[61],{"name":27,"class":6},"100560642","cardiac-rehabilitation-and-coronary-artery-disease-100560642",false,"NCT06579807","Cardiac Rehabilitation and Coronary Artery Disease","Effect of a Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Program on Atherosclerosis, Endothelial Function and Inflammation in Patients With Coronary Artery Disease","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Eligible CAD patients will be those aged 40 to 70 years, of both sexes, entering the cardiac rehabilitation program at HUPE. A reference group composed of healthy individuals will be included. Evaluations will be conducted at baseline and after the intervention period during two visits. During the first visit, carotid artery thickness will be assessed via ultrasound before and after a cardiopulmonary exercise testing. The second visit will include the evaluation of endothelial function using venous occlusion plethysmography. After this, participants will engage in 30 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise, and blood samples will be collected pre- and post-exercise. Circulating levels of kynurenine pathway (KP) metabolites (Tryptophan, kynurenine, kynurenic acid, and quinolinic acid), pro-inflammatory cytokines, cell adhesion molecules, and lipid profiles will be measured via Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), multiplex essays, and biochemical analysis; respectively.",[81,82],"Coronary Artery Disease","Atherosclerosis",[84,85,86,87],"Cardiac rehabilitation","Physical training","Inflammation","Intercellular adhesion molecules","2026-03-23",{"date":90,"type":91},"2026-03-27","ACTUAL",{"date":93,"type":91},"2024-10-01",{"date":95,"type":75},"2026-12-31",{"name":5,"class":6},1]
