The sessions are gradually increased in length over the first weeks of participation, and are comprised of 15-30 minutes of moderate aerobic activity (recumbent bike, walking on a treadmill or on an elliptical machine) as well as 5-10 minutes of resistance training using hydraulic exercise equipment. The sessions conclude with stretching exercises. Throughout the session, a personal trainer assesses the rating of perceived exertion using the 6 to 20 point Borg scale of exhaustion.41 Between sessions, participants are asked to monitor their daily step count with a target of 10,000 steps per day using a pedometer provided to the participant. This number is reported to or downloaded by the personal trainer at each in-person session. These elements will be adapted to provide a similar exercise experience that is accessible to women in their local community.",[13],"Behavioral: Exercise in Pregnancy",{"label":15,"type":16,"description":17,"interventionNames":18},"Standard Care","NO_INTERVENTION","Participants will receive guidance on exercise from their physician as usual.",null,[20],{"type":21,"name":22,"description":23,"armGroupLabels":24,"otherNames":18},"BEHAVIORAL","Exercise in Pregnancy","Women in this group will participate in psychical activity 3 times per week in their community setting.",[9],[26],{"name":27,"role":28,"phone":29,"phoneExt":18,"email":30},"Taren Swindle, PhD","CONTACT","501-526-7058","tswindle@uams.edu",[32],{"facility":33,"status":34,"city":35,"state":36,"zip":37,"country":38,"countryCode":39,"cosmosGeoPoint":40,"geoPoint":45,"contacts":46},"Arkansas Children's Nutrition Center","RECRUITING","Little Rock","Arkansas","72205","United States","US",{"type":41,"coordinates":42},"Point",[43,44],-92.28959,34.74648,{"lat":44,"lon":43},[47],{"name":48,"role":28,"phone":18,"phoneExt":18,"email":18},"Taren M Swindle, PhD",{"type":50,"investigatorFullName":18,"investigatorTitle":18,"investigatorAffiliation":18,"oldNameTitle":18,"oldOrganization":18},"SPONSOR","100385393","community-translation-of-the-expecting-study-100385393",false,"NCT04298125","Community Translation of the Expecting Study","Antenatal Factors Impacting Obesity and Metabolism in Children: Sub-objective 2D","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* (a) Body Mass Index \\> 30,\n* (b) singleton pregnancy,\n* (c) between 11-15 weeks of pregnancy (at enrollment),\n* (d) Do not currently meet recommended guidelines of 150 min of activity per week\n* (e) cleared by physician\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* (a) contraindications for exercise (preeclampsia-eclampsia, premature rupture of the membranes, antepartum hemorrhage, placenta previa, multiple gestation and other defined conditions)\n* (b) illicit drug use.","FEMALE","18 Years",{"count":61,"type":62},60,"ESTIMATED","INTERVENTIONAL",[65],"NA","The Expecting intervention as delivered in prior studies in a clinical setting is described in a previous approved IRB submission (Protocol 202954).
