Parents are not excluded from participating in treatment, but their involvement is limited to helping to create a family environment that allows for recovery. Patients are actively involved in all phases of treatment, including the decision to address weight regain and\u002For binge eating and purging, with the goal of promoting self-management. A primary goal of CBT-E is to address the patient's eating disorder psychopathology, i.e. patients' concerns about shape, weight, dietary restraint and restriction, and other extreme weight control behaviors. Following manualized CBT-E guidelines, for patients in the lower weight cohort, treatment involves 40 sessions over 9-12 months. For those in the higher weight cohort, treatment involves 20 sessions over the course of 6 months.",[13],"Behavioral: Enhanced Cognitive-behavior therapy for adolescents with an eating disorder",{"label":15,"type":16,"description":17,"interventionNames":18},"Family-based treatment for adolescents with an eating disorder (FBT)","ACTIVE_COMPARATOR","FBT for adolescent eating disorders usually includes all members of the adolescent's immediate family. Treatment progresses through three phases, with the first (∼10 sessions) focusing mainly on guiding the parents to support their adolescent toward weight restoration (when appropriate), and disrupting eating disorder behaviors (e.g. binge eating and purging). The second phase (∼5-7 sessions) focuses on assisting the parents to restore food choices to the adolescent, with an emphasis on the developmental stage of the adolescent. Phase 3 is brief (2-3 sessions), focusing on adolescent developmental matters and helping the parents and their offspring navigate these tasks largely in the absence of acute eating disorder symptoms. Twenty treatment sessions are provided over a span of approximately 6 months.",[19],"Behavioral: Family-based therapy for adolescents with an eating disorder",[21,27],{"type":22,"name":23,"description":24,"armGroupLabels":25,"otherNames":26},"BEHAVIORAL","Enhanced Cognitive-behavior therapy for adolescents with an eating disorder","Psychotherapy",[9],null,{"type":22,"name":28,"description":24,"armGroupLabels":29,"otherNames":26},"Family-based therapy for adolescents with an eating disorder",[15],[31,34],{"name":32,"affiliation":5,"role":33},"Øyvind Rø, MD","PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",{"name":35,"affiliation":5,"role":33},"Ingrid Funderud, PhD",[37,41],{"name":35,"role":38,"phone":39,"phoneExt":26,"email":40},"CONTACT","+4723016230","ifunderu@ous-hf.no",{"name":32,"role":38,"phone":39,"phoneExt":26,"email":42},"oyvind.ro@ous-hf.no",[44,62,76,89,103],{"facility":45,"status":46,"city":47,"state":26,"zip":48,"country":49,"countryCode":50,"cosmosGeoPoint":51,"geoPoint":56,"contacts":57},"Haukeland University Hospital","RECRUITING","Bergen","5009","Norway","NO",{"type":52,"coordinates":53},"Point",[54,55],5.32415,60.39299,{"lat":55,"lon":54},[58],{"name":59,"role":38,"phone":60,"phoneExt":26,"email":61},"Liv Kleve","+0055975000","liv.kleve@helse-bergen.no",{"facility":63,"status":46,"city":64,"state":26,"zip":65,"country":49,"countryCode":50,"cosmosGeoPoint":66,"geoPoint":70,"contacts":71},"Vestre Viken Health Trust","Drammen","30004",{"type":52,"coordinates":67},[68,69],10.20449,59.74389,{"lat":69,"lon":68},[72],{"name":73,"role":38,"phone":74,"phoneExt":26,"email":75},"Hilde Widing, Psychologist","47 32 80 30 00","hilde.widing@vestreviken.no",{"facility":5,"status":46,"city":77,"state":26,"zip":78,"country":49,"countryCode":50,"cosmosGeoPoint":79,"geoPoint":83,"contacts":84},"Oslo","0424",{"type":52,"coordinates":80},[81,82],10.74609,59.91273,{"lat":82,"lon":81},[85],{"name":86,"role":38,"phone":87,"phoneExt":26,"email":88},"Øyvind Rø","+47233016230","oyvind.Ro@ous-hf.no",{"facility":90,"status":46,"city":91,"state":26,"zip":92,"country":49,"countryCode":50,"cosmosGeoPoint":93,"geoPoint":97,"contacts":98},"University Hospital of North Norway","Tromsø","9019",{"type":52,"coordinates":94},[95,96],18.95508,69.6489,{"lat":96,"lon":95},[99],{"name":100,"role":38,"phone":101,"phoneExt":26,"email":102},"Vibeke Stalsberg","+4777626000","Vibeke.Stalsberg@unn.no",{"facility":104,"status":46,"city":105,"state":26,"zip":106,"country":49,"countryCode":50,"cosmosGeoPoint":107,"geoPoint":111,"contacts":112},"St. Olav Hospital","Trondheim","7030",{"type":52,"coordinates":108},[109,110],10.39506,63.43049,{"lat":110,"lon":109},[113],{"name":114,"role":38,"phone":115,"phoneExt":26,"email":116},"Kari Skulstad Gårvik","+4772573000","Kari.Skulstad.Gardvik@stolav.no",{"type":33,"investigatorFullName":118,"investigatorTitle":119,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":26,"oldOrganization":26},"Øyvind Rø MD","Research director",[121,123,125,127,129,131,132,133],{"name":122,"class":6},"South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority",{"name":124,"class":6},"University of Oslo",{"name":126,"class":6},"Villa Garda Hospital",{"name":128,"class":6},"University of California, San Francisco",{"name":130,"class":6},"St. Olavs Hospital",{"name":90,"class":6},{"name":45,"class":6},{"name":134,"class":6},"Vestre Viken Hospital Trust","100535788","comparing-enhanced-cognitive-behavior-therapy-and-family-based-treatment-for-adolescents-with-an-eating-disorder-100535788",false,"NCT06256380","Comparing Enhanced Cognitive-behavior Therapy and Family-based Treatment for Adolescents With an Eating Disorder","Comparing Enhanced Cognitive-behavior Therapy and Family-based Treatment for Adolescents With an Eating Disorder: a Non-inferiority Randomized Controlled Trial","CogFam","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n1.
