A key innovation lies in the introduction and rehearsal of four interaction skills -- Noticing, Following, Talking, and Encouraging (NiFTE, pronounced \"Nifty\") -- to foster serve-and-return interactions with infants as well as supportive, cooperative coparenting interactions between mothers and fathers.
