The population of moderately preterm infants admitted to a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and their parents are individuals who face a unique and complex set of challenges. These infants are at a stage when many of their organs and body systems are not yet fully developed. This incomplete development makes them particularly vulnerable to various medical complications.\n\nAs for the parents of these infants, the experience of having a baby admitted to the NICU is often a source of great emotional and psychological stress. Preterm birth, which is generally unexpected, can generate feelings of anxiety, fear and uncertainty about their baby's short- and long-term health. They need clear and understandable informational support to help them feel more involved and less helpless in their baby's care.",[13,14],"Other: Neurobehavioral states and physiological parameters evaluation","Other: Maternal vocal pitch evaluation to assess depressive\u002Fanxious state",[16,20],{"type":6,"name":17,"description":18,"armGroupLabels":19,"otherNames":10},"Neurobehavioral states and physiological parameters evaluation","Each individual infant included in the study will be assessed 3 times a week for at least two weeks: specifically, two detections of neurobehavioral states in response to interaction with the mother, two detections with the father, and two detections with the nurse(s) will be made.\n\nFor each infant involved in the study, an audio\u002Fvideo recording of cradle movements and vocalizations will be made at 3 different consecutive times (5 minutes each): baseline; recording during interaction with either parent or nurse; post-interaction assessment.\n\nThe parent or nurse is asked to interact freely with the baby, choosing whether to use voice and touch or only one of the sensory stimulation channels. During the interactions, parents and nurse will in turn be assessed relative to some basic physiological parameters through the use of a band applied to the chest; the infant's physiological parameters during the 3 times will also be recorded.",[9],{"type":6,"name":21,"description":22,"armGroupLabels":23,"otherNames":10},"Maternal vocal pitch evaluation to assess depressive\u002Fanxious state","Regarding the assessment of any depressive\u002Fanxious states of the mother, as an additional support to the self-report questionnaires the maternal vocal pitch will be specifically assessed through the \"Talking about\" software (AI algorithm applied to maternal postpartum depression research).",[9],[25],{"name":26,"affiliation":5,"role":27},"Gennaro Tartarisco","PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",[29,33],{"name":26,"role":30,"phone":31,"phoneExt":10,"email":32},"CONTACT","3283377046","gennaro.tartarisco@irib.cnr.it",{"name":34,"role":30,"phone":10,"phoneExt":10,"email":35},"Maria Valeria Maiorana","mariavaleria.maiorana@irib.cnr.it",[37],{"facility":38,"status":39,"city":40,"state":10,"zip":41,"country":42,"countryCode":43,"cosmosGeoPoint":44,"geoPoint":49,"contacts":50},"Institute for Biomedical Research and Innovation (IRIB)-National Reasearch Council (CNR), Messina 98164, Italy","RECRUITING","Messina","98164","Italy","IT",{"type":45,"coordinates":46},"Point",[47,48],15.55256,38.19394,{"lat":48,"lon":47},[51,54,55,57,59,61,63,65,67],{"name":52,"role":30,"phone":10,"phoneExt":10,"email":53},"Serena Iacono Isidoro","serena.iaconoisidoro@irib.cnr.it",{"name":26,"role":27,"phone":10,"phoneExt":10,"email":10},{"name":52,"role":56,"phone":10,"phoneExt":10,"email":10},"SUB_INVESTIGATOR",{"name":58,"role":56,"phone":10,"phoneExt":10,"email":10},"Gaspare Cusimano",{"name":60,"role":56,"phone":10,"phoneExt":10,"email":10},"Vita Angileri",{"name":62,"role":56,"phone":10,"phoneExt":10,"email":10},"Vincenzo Duca",{"name":64,"role":56,"phone":10,"phoneExt":10,"email":10},"Vassilios Fanos",{"name":66,"role":56,"phone":10,"phoneExt":10,"email":10},"Chiara Ionio",{"name":68,"role":56,"phone":10,"phoneExt":10,"email":10},"Concetta Polizzi",{"type":27,"investigatorFullName":26,"investigatorTitle":70,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":10,"oldOrganization":10},"Head of Unit",[72,75],{"name":73,"class":74},"Scienze Psicologiche,Pedagogiche,Università degli Studi di Palermo","UNKNOWN",{"name":76,"class":74},"UOC Neonatologia e UTIN, Presidio Ospedaliero G. In addition, information on parent-child interactive modalities will be able to further guide the intake of assignment and particularly the accompaniment of parents during the time of hospitalization.",[95,96],"Preterm Birth","Postpartum Depression",[98,99,100],"preterm birth","contact relationship","postpartum depression","2025-04-29",{"date":103,"type":104},"2025-05-01","ACTUAL",{"date":106,"type":104},"2024-11-01",{"date":108,"type":91},"2026-10-31",{"name":5,"class":6},1]
