Data concerning incidence of difficult airway in patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery is controversial. Unwanted hemodynamic changes that may occur in patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery, combined with hemodynamic changes caused by underlying cardiac pathologies, may also lead to a physiologically difficult airway situation.
