Forearm blood flow (FBF) is measured using venous occlusion plethysmography. The purpose of this procedure is to assess endothelium-dependent and independent vasodilation by stimulating different vascular pathways. The Ach infusion is to test muscarinic receptor, nitro oxide (NO) dependent, endothelium-dependent vasodilation.
