However, we will only include effectiveness data (i.e., surveys and screening uptake) from those who meet the study eligibility criteria. The intervention will be a peer-led, multidimensional community workshop. It will incorporate multiple components that tackle barriers to screening and that are present in the existing IMCAN and PROCAN-B interventions, if the PICE group believe these are helpful, such as health education about breast, cervical, bowel and AAA screening delivered by a healthcare provider with an opportunity to ask questions, personal testimonials through survivors' stories, as well as members of the community discussing experiences of screening, and utilising community and peer support and religious leaders.",[9],[25,30],{"name":26,"role":27,"phone":28,"phoneExt":18,"email":29},"Floor Christie-de Jong","CONTACT","0191 5153445","floor.christie@sunderland.ac.uk",{"name":31,"role":27,"phone":32,"phoneExt":18,"email":33},"Farhin Ahmed","0191 515 3000","Farhin.Ahmed@sunderland.ac.uk",[35,51,62],{"facility":36,"status":18,"city":37,"state":38,"zip":39,"country":40,"countryCode":41,"cosmosGeoPoint":42,"geoPoint":47,"contacts":48},"University of Glasgow","Glasgow","Scotland","G12 8QQ","United Kingdom","UK",{"type":43,"coordinates":44},"Point",[45,46],-4.25763,55.86515,{"lat":46,"lon":45},[49],{"name":31,"role":27,"phone":50,"phoneExt":18,"email":33},"0191 515 300",{"facility":52,"status":18,"city":53,"state":18,"zip":54,"country":40,"countryCode":41,"cosmosGeoPoint":55,"geoPoint":59,"contacts":60},"Leeds Beckett University","Leeds","LS1 3HE",{"type":43,"coordinates":56},[57,58],-1.54785,53.79648,{"lat":58,"lon":57},[61],{"name":31,"role":27,"phone":50,"phoneExt":18,"email":33},{"facility":5,"status":18,"city":63,"state":18,"zip":64,"country":40,"countryCode":41,"cosmosGeoPoint":65,"geoPoint":69,"contacts":70},"Sunderland","SR1 3SD",{"type":43,"coordinates":66},[67,68],-1.38222,54.90465,{"lat":68,"lon":67},[71],{"name":31,"role":27,"phone":50,"phoneExt":18,"email":33},{"type":73,"investigatorFullName":26,"investigatorTitle":74,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":18,"oldOrganization":18},"PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR","Associate Professor in Public Health for Medicine",[76],{"name":36,"class":6},"100591496","equita---a-feasibility-trial-of-a-faith-placed-intervention-to-increase-screening-uptake-in-black-adults-100591496",false,"NCT06981182","EQUITA - A Feasibility Trial of a Faith-placed Intervention to Increase Screening Uptake in Black Adults","EQUITy in Black Adult Health (EQUITA) - a Randomised Feasibility Trial of a Co-produced and Faith-placed Intervention to Increase Uptake of Breast, Cervical, Bowel, and AAA Screening in the North East of England, Leeds and Scotland","EQUITA","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Members of participating churches (North East of England, Leeds, Scotland)\n* Self-identify as Black,\n* Female aged 25-74,\n* Male aged 50-74,\n* Not up to date with all screening tests for which they are eligible, e.g., women who are up to date with one form of screening (e.g., breast) will be eligible for recruitment if they are not up to date with others (e.g., cervical or bowel).\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Not a member of participating churches (North East of England, Leeds, Scotland).\n* Individuals who do not self-identify as Black\n* Do not self-identity as Black\n* Females aged outside the range of 25-74\n* Males aged outside the range of 50-74.\n* Individuals who are up to date with all screening tests for which they are eligible.",true,"ALL","25 Years","74 Years",{"count":90,"type":91},300,"ESTIMATED","INTERVENTIONAL",[94],"NA","The goal of this randomised feasibility trial is to examine feasibility and acceptability of a co-produced and faith-placed intervention to increase uptake of breast, cervical, bowel, and abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening among Black communities in the North East of England, Leeds and Scotland, United Kingdom (UK).\n\nParticipants will be invited to attend a two-hour workshop at each of the three study sites and will be randomly assigned to either the intervention group or the control group.\n\nThis 24-month feasibility study will inform the development of a full-scale randomised-controlled trial co-produced for Black people that uses culturally appropriate messages that support screening for early diagnosis in this underserved group.",[97,98,99,100],"Breast Cancer","Bowel Cancer","Cervical Cancer","Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm",[102,97,98,99,100,103,104,105,106,107],"Cancer screening","Faith-placed intervention","Black adults","Randomised Controlled Trial","Feasibility study","Faith-based","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2025-05-12",{"date":111,"type":112},"2025-05-20","ACTUAL",{"date":114,"type":91},"2025-09-01",{"date":116,"type":91},"2027-02-28",{"name":5,"class":6},3]
