To achieve this, both conventional percussion instruments, such as claves, tambourines, woodblocks, and triangles, and unconventional elements, such as buckets played with drumsticks, sheets of paper, spoons, ribbons, elastic bands, and a parachute, were used to mark the rhythm during the singing sessions. The selected songs were chosen based on the musical styles mentioned by the participants during the pre-intervention interview. Furthermore, participants were given the opportunity to showcase their progress at the end of the activity, with the aim of sharing these achievements with family and friends at the home.",[9],[25],"Music therapy",[27,32],{"name":28,"role":29,"phone":30,"phoneExt":18,"email":31},"Leonie Kausel, PhD","CONTACT","+56987112946","leonie.kausel@mail.udp.cl",{"name":33,"role":29,"phone":34,"phoneExt":18,"email":35},"Vanessa Corrales, Psychologist","+5697565 6900","vanessa.corrales@mail.udp.cl",[37],{"facility":38,"status":39,"city":40,"state":41,"zip":42,"country":43,"countryCode":44,"cosmosGeoPoint":45,"geoPoint":50,"contacts":51},"Fundación Las Rosas","RECRUITING","Santiago","Santiago Metropolitan","8390865","Chile","CL",{"type":46,"coordinates":47},"Point",[48,49],-70.64827,-33.45694,{"lat":49,"lon":48},[52],{"name":53,"role":29,"phone":54,"phoneExt":18,"email":31},"Leonie Kausel","56987112946",{"type":56,"investigatorFullName":53,"investigatorTitle":57,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":18,"oldOrganization":18},"PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR","Principal Investigator","100576632","impact-of-a-musical-intervention-in-older-adults-ara-project---armona-recreativa-para-el-adulto-mayor-100576632",false,"NCT06787820","Impact of a Musical Intervention in Older Adults (ARA Project - Armonía Recreativa Para El Adulto Mayor)","Evaluation of the Cognitive and Socioemotional Impact of a Musical Intervention in Older Adults","ARA","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Older adults residing in a protected residence.\n* Consent to participate in the study.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Physical or cognitive impairments that prevent participation in musical intervention activities.\n* Mild cognitive impairment determined by the GDS-3 scale, reported by the residence therapists.",true,"ALL","65 Years",{"count":70,"type":71},40,"ESTIMATED","INTERVENTIONAL",[74],"NA","Currently, the world is facing the challenge of population aging. At this stage of life, various deteriorations, such as cognitive decline, begin to appear, significantly impairing the quality of life. Therefore, it is imperative to seek interventions that can positively impact the life trajectory of older adults. While the cognitive benefits of musical interventions for children and young people are well-documented, there is a lack of evidence regarding their effects on the cognitive and socioemotional well-being of institutionalized older adults.\n\nTo address this, the investigators will conduct a non-randomized clinical trial at Fundación Las Rosas, which operates various homes for the elderly. The trial will involve two groups: a control group and an experimental group. The control group will attend concerts held within the care facility, while the experimental group will participate in a music workshop once a week for three months.\n\nTo evaluate the outcomes, cognitive and socioemotional assessments will be conducted at three points: prior to the musical intervention (baseline), at the end of the intervention period, and one month after the interventions conclude (follow-up). The results will provide valuable insights to support the development and implementation of cost-effective non-pharmacological interventions, specifically musical interventions, to promote well-being in older adults by demonstrating their applicability and effectiveness within the national context. By assessing the intervention's impact on both cognitive and socioemotional dimensions, this study will also contribute to a deeper understanding of how these skills can be developed and promoted among older adults.",[77],"Older People",[79,80,81],"Music","Elderly persons","Institutionalized","2025-01-20",{"date":84,"type":85},"2025-01-22","ACTUAL",{"date":87,"type":85},"2024-06-01",{"date":89,"type":71},"2025-05-01",{"name":5,"class":6},1]
