During visits to the dental hygienist, they will be asked about oral hygiene habits, fluoride use, dry mouth problems, and dietary habits (including intake of easily degradable carbohydrates). Oral dryness will be assessed using the Clinical Oral Dryness Scale. The stimulated salivary secretion and buffering capacity will be assessed, and the ability to open the mouth, cariological and periodontal status and registered plaque. Based on the results of the clinical examination, the patient will get individually tailored advice and recommendations on oral hygiene, fluoride use, dry mouth relief, and support in reducing the intake of food items and drinks with high sugar content. Professional oral care will be given, and fluoride applications when indicated.",[9],null,[20],{"name":21,"role":22,"phone":23,"phoneExt":18,"email":24},"Ylva Tiblom Ehrsson, Assoc professor, RN","CONTACT","+46707747712","ylva.tiblom.ehrsson@uu.se",[26],{"facility":5,"status":18,"city":27,"state":18,"zip":28,"country":29,"countryCode":30,"cosmosGeoPoint":31,"geoPoint":36,"contacts":18},"Uppsala","751 85","Sweden","SE",{"type":32,"coordinates":33},"Point",[34,35],17.63889,59.85882,{"lat":35,"lon":34},{"type":38,"investigatorFullName":18,"investigatorTitle":18,"investigatorAffiliation":18,"oldNameTitle":18,"oldOrganization":18},"SPONSOR",[40,43,45,48,50,52,54],{"name":41,"class":42},"Region Västerbotten","OTHER_GOV",{"name":44,"class":6},"Region Östergötland",{"name":46,"class":47},"Sjöbergstiftelsen","UNKNOWN",{"name":49,"class":47},"The Stig & Ragna Gorthon Foundation, Helsingborg",{"name":51,"class":6},"Swedish Cancer Society",{"name":53,"class":47},"Region of Uppsala",{"name":55,"class":6},"Region Skane","100606262","improved-oral-health-in-head-and-neck-cancer-survivors-100606262",false,"NCT07173270","Improved Oral Health in Head and Neck Cancer Survivors","OHHNC","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* patients (≥ 18 years)\n* diagnosed with HNC\n* scheduled for treatment with curative intent, including RT or CRT with or without surgery\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* severe alcoholism\n* cognitive impairment\n* inability to understand the Swedish language","ALL","18 Years",{"count":66,"type":67},300,"ESTIMATED","INTERVENTIONAL",[70],"NA","The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if an oral care programme can prevent or reduce late oral side effects in patients with head and neck cancer following treatment.
