It will also examine whether the program changes unhelpful thinking patterns about worry and rumination.\n\nThe main questions it aims to answer are:\n\nDoes metacognitive bibliotherapy lower anxiety and depression symptoms in university students? Does it reduce unhelpful thinking patterns, such as excessive worry and rumination?\n\nResearchers will compare two different self-help books with a waiting list group to see if reading these books helps reduce anxiety and depression.\n\nParticipants will:\n\n* Be randomly assigned to one of three groups: read The Art of Letting Go - How to Stop Rumination, read Anchored: How to Befriend Your Nervous System Using Polyvagal Theory, or join a waiting list\n* Read the assigned book at their own pace over 8 weeks\n* Complete online questionnaires at the start of the study, after 4 weeks, and after 8 weeks\n* Participants in the waiting list group will receive both books for free after the 8-week study period ends",[63,64,65,66],"Anxiety","Depression","Stress (Psychology)","Rumination",[68,69,70,71],"Metacognition","Psychological Distress","self-help","rumination","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-05-30",{"date":75,"type":76},"2026-06-04","ACTUAL",{"date":78,"type":57},"2026-06-15",{"date":80,"type":57},"2026-10-31",{"name":5,"class":6}]
