The subject will then be asked to slightly bend to the left side to open the intercostal space. Subsequently, a handheld probe is placed in the intercostal space overlaying the right hepatic lobe. The velocity of returning shear waves, measured at a depth of 25-65 mm, is converted into a liver stiffness measurement (LSM). The LSM obtained from a given VCTE exam is the median value of at least 10 successful measurements. This information, along with clinical data associated with the patient will be placed in a database for use in identifying potential subjects for future trials.",[9],[21],"fibroscan",[23,28],{"name":24,"role":25,"phone":26,"phoneExt":10,"email":27},"Ajay Chaudhuri, MD","CONTACT","716-907-1916","achaudhu@buffalo.edu",{"name":29,"role":25,"phone":30,"phoneExt":10,"email":31},"Andrew Talal, MD","716-888-4737","ahtalal@buffalo.edu",[33],{"facility":34,"status":35,"city":36,"state":37,"zip":38,"country":39,"countryCode":40,"cosmosGeoPoint":41,"geoPoint":46,"contacts":47},"Conventus Medical Office Building","RECRUITING","Buffalo","New York","14203","United States","US",{"type":42,"coordinates":43},"Point",[44,45],-78.87837,42.88645,{"lat":45,"lon":44},[48,49],{"name":24,"role":25,"phone":26,"phoneExt":10,"email":27},{"name":24,"role":50,"phone":10,"phoneExt":10,"email":10},"PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",{"type":50,"investigatorFullName":52,"investigatorTitle":53,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":10,"oldOrganization":10},"Ajay Chaudhuri","Principal Investigator",[55],{"name":56,"class":6},"Kaleida Health","100277944","non-invasive-liver-screening-using-fibroscan-device-for-liver-disease-patients-for-the-steatosisfibrosis-database-100277944",false,"NCT02897908","Non-invasive Liver Screening Using FibroScan Device for Liver Disease Patients for the Steatosis\u002FFibrosis Database","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Subjects with known, or suspected risk factors for steatosis (fat) or hepatic fibrosis\n* Subjects who have been previously diagnosed with Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) but who do not have current steatosis (fat) or fibrosis scoring\n* Subjects who have other known liver diseases ie: HCV\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patients less than 18 years of age\n* Pregnancy\n* Patients that do not want to be contacted for consideration in future research studies.\n* Patients diagnosed with ascites or peritoneal dialysis\n* Body mass index (BMI) ≥40","ALL","18 Years",{"count":66,"type":67},1000,"ESTIMATED","1 Day","OBSERVATIONAL","The primary goal of this study is to establish a database of people with varying levels of hepatic fibrosis and various etiologies of liver disease for use in future research protocols.",[72],"Disease of Liver and Bile Duct","2026-06-18",{"date":75,"type":76},"2026-06-22","ACTUAL",{"date":78,"type":76},"2016-10-28",{"date":80,"type":67},"2027-04",{"name":5,"class":6},1]
