PRIDE is a 14-session treatment that incorporates aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy for eating disorders (CBT-E) and SM-affirmative therapy. CBT-E aspects of treatment include in-session weighing, self-monitoring (food logs), regular eating, and techniques to address overvaluation of weight and shape. SM-affirmative therapy techniques include discussing the impact of minority stress on health, resilience, and strength within the SM community, specific manifestations of minority stress on eating and body image, current coping strategies, emotion regulation skills, and developing mindful, present-focused reactions to minority stress.",[13],"Behavioral: Promoting Resilience to Improve Disordered Eating",[15],{"type":16,"name":17,"description":18,"armGroupLabels":19,"otherNames":20},"BEHAVIORAL","Promoting Resilience to Improve Disordered Eating","See description under \"Arms\"",[9],[21],"PRIDE",[23,26],{"name":24,"affiliation":5,"role":25},"Tiffany Brown, PhD","PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",{"name":27,"affiliation":28,"role":25},"Aaron Blashill, PhD","San Diego State University",[30,35],{"name":24,"role":31,"phone":32,"phoneExt":33,"email":34},"CONTACT","334-844-6687",null,"tiffanybrown@auburn.edu",{"name":36,"role":31,"phone":33,"phoneExt":33,"email":37},"Kennedi Burton, B.A.","krb0136@auburn.edu",[39,58],{"facility":5,"status":40,"city":41,"state":42,"zip":43,"country":44,"countryCode":45,"cosmosGeoPoint":46,"geoPoint":51,"contacts":52},"RECRUITING","Auburn","Alabama","36849-9027","United States","US",{"type":47,"coordinates":48},"Point",[49,50],-85.48078,32.60986,{"lat":50,"lon":49},[53,56],{"name":54,"role":31,"phone":32,"phoneExt":33,"email":55},"Tiffany A Brown, PhD","tab0110@auburn.edu",{"name":57,"role":31,"phone":33,"phoneExt":33,"email":37},"Kennedi Burton, BA",{"facility":28,"status":40,"city":59,"state":60,"zip":61,"country":44,"countryCode":45,"cosmosGeoPoint":62,"geoPoint":66,"contacts":67},"San Diego","California","92182",{"type":47,"coordinates":63},[64,65],-117.16472,32.71571,{"lat":65,"lon":64},[68,71],{"name":27,"role":31,"phone":69,"phoneExt":33,"email":70},"619-594-2245","ajblashill@sdsu.edu",{"name":72,"role":31,"phone":33,"phoneExt":33,"email":73},"Nathaniel Holmes, B.A.","nholmes@sdsu.edu",{"type":25,"investigatorFullName":75,"investigatorTitle":76,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":33,"oldOrganization":33},"Tiffany Brown","Assistant Professor",[78],{"name":28,"class":6},"100559554","phase-1-targeting-minority-stressors-to-improve-eating-disorder-symptoms-in-sexual-minority-individuals-with-eating-disorders-100559554",false,"NCT06565637","Targeting Minority Stressors to Improve Eating Disorder Symptoms in Sexual Minority Individuals With Eating Disorders","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* age 18 to 65 years\n* identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, other non-heterosexual identities\n* meet criteria for a Diagnostic and Statistical Manual - 5 (DSM-5) eating disorder (i.e., anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, other specified feeding or eating disorder)\n* reports current (past 12 months) experience with discrimination due to sexual orientation;\n* speaks English\n* has internet access and a working webcam\n* reside (and plan to continue to reside for the study duration) in California or one of the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT) states\n* able to provide informed consent\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* inability to speak\u002Fread English\n* active suicidal plans or intent\n* other major untreated psychiatric diagnoses (e.g., untreated bipolar disorder, untreated psychosis)\n* body mass index below 17.0, a standard clinical cutoff used to denote moderate-severe underweight that may be indicated for a higher level of medical care than standard outpatient treatment",true,"ALL","18 Years","65 Years",{"count":90,"type":91},30,"ESTIMATED","INTERVENTIONAL",[94],"PHASE1","The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if a new intervention (Promoting Resilience to Improve Disordered Eating; PRIDE) can decrease internalized stigma and increase the ability to cope effectively with stressors in sexual minority populations diagnosed with eating disorders.
