The purpose is to test its feasibility on smoking abstinence. While convention rTMS methods involves one session daily over several weeks, aTMS delivers multiple sessions per day. Using the H4 deep aTMS, this study will implement 20 sessions over five consecutive days (four sessions daily).",[9],[21,22,23],"Deep TMS","Accelerated TMS","Repetitive TMS",[25],{"name":26,"affiliation":5,"role":27},"Bernard Le Foll, MD, PhD, MCFP (AM) FCAHS","PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",[29,35],{"name":30,"role":31,"phone":32,"phoneExt":33,"email":34},"Florence Tang, MA","CONTACT","705-549-3181","3040","ftang@waypointcentre.ca",{"name":36,"role":31,"phone":37,"phoneExt":38,"email":39},"Vincent Wang, MD","647-522-3415",null,"xi-yu.wang@camh.ca",[41,59],{"facility":5,"status":42,"city":43,"state":44,"zip":38,"country":45,"countryCode":46,"cosmosGeoPoint":47,"geoPoint":52,"contacts":53},"RECRUITING","Penetanguishene","Ontario","Canada","CA",{"type":48,"coordinates":49},"Point",[50,51],-79.91637,44.7834,{"lat":51,"lon":50},[54,56,57],{"name":55,"role":31,"phone":32,"phoneExt":33,"email":34},"Florence Tang, Masters of Arts",{"name":36,"role":31,"phone":37,"phoneExt":33,"email":39},{"name":58,"role":27,"phone":38,"phoneExt":38,"email":38},"Plabon Ismail, MD",{"facility":60,"status":61,"city":62,"state":44,"zip":38,"country":45,"countryCode":46,"cosmosGeoPoint":63,"geoPoint":67,"contacts":68},"Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","Toronto",{"type":48,"coordinates":64},[65,66],-79.39864,43.70643,{"lat":66,"lon":65},[69,70,71],{"name":55,"role":31,"phone":32,"phoneExt":33,"email":34},{"name":36,"role":31,"phone":37,"phoneExt":38,"email":39},{"name":72,"role":27,"phone":38,"phoneExt":38,"email":38},"Peter Peter Giacobbe, MD",{"type":74,"investigatorFullName":38,"investigatorTitle":38,"investigatorAffiliation":38,"oldNameTitle":38,"oldOrganization":38},"SPONSOR","100615459","phase-2-accelerated-dtms-smoking-cessation-100615459",false,"NCT07292883","Accelerated dTMS Smoking Cessation","Accelerated Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation for Smoking Cessation","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n1. This study aims to enroll 30-40 participants and will examine treatment tolerability, treatment acceptability, participant retention, and adherence to scheduled treatment sessions.\n\nThere are two key objectives and hypotheses:\n\nObjective 1: To evaluate whether a 1-week course of bilateral aTMS (4 sessions per day for 5 days) is feasible and tolerable as a smoking cessation treatment.\n\nHypothesis 1: Feasibility will be demonstrated by acceptable tolerability, acceptability, retention, and adherence, with a practical target of 30 out of 40 participants completing the treatment.\n\nObjective 2: To explore how aTMS affects smoking outcomes, including:\n\n* Point-prevalence abstinence at end of treatment and at Weeks 3, 5, and 9.\n* Prolonged\u002Fcontinuous abstinence at Weeks 13 and 26.\n* Craving, cigarettes per day, and dependence severity. Hypothesis 2: Participants will show improvements on these outcomes from post-treatment through follow-up.",[92,93],"Tobacco Use Disorder","Addiction Nicotine",[95,96,97,9],"addiction","smoking cessation","Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation","2026-04-15",{"date":100,"type":101},"2026-04-21","ACTUAL",{"date":103,"type":101},"2026-02-24",{"date":105,"type":86},"2028-01-01",{"name":5,"class":6},2]
