Procedure must be performed under general anesthesia.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Pregnant,\n* Patients with gastrointestinal disease requiring ongoing medical management.\n* Prior gastrointestinal surgery with the exception of diagnostic procedures, appendectomy and cholecystectomy.\n* Patients with a history of H2 receptor blocker use, proton pump inhibitor use or other GERD specific therapy within 30 days of surgery.\n* Any patient identified by their surgical care team as having a history of PONV warranting additional perioperative prophylaxis.\n* Known r suspected malignancy\n* Lactose intolerance",true,"FEMALE","18 Years","79 Years",{"count":75,"type":76},132,"ESTIMATED","INTERVENTIONAL",[79],"PHASE2","The goal of this clinical trial is to see if pantoprazole (a proton pump inhibitor used for acid reflux\u002Fheart burn) can reduce nausea and vomiting after gynecologic surgery in women between the ages of 18 and 79.\n\nResearchers will compare a placebo to the active medication.\n\nParticipants will be asked to take three pills around their surgery, two taken before and one taken the night after.",[82],"Postoperative Nausea and Vomiting",[84,85],"PONV","Postoperative nausea","2025-05-16",{"date":88,"type":89},"2025-05-21","ACTUAL",{"date":91,"type":89},"2022-08-26",{"date":93,"type":76},"2026-12",{"name":5,"class":6},1]
