In the most severe cases, prolonged hospitalization is essential, but this ultimately leads to harmful school dropout and social exclusion. \"Care-study\" hospitalizations offer comprehensive psychiatric, educational, and social care to prevent this. However, these programs have been largely under-evaluated ; only one limited and very old study has looked at the perspective of the young people concerned, and none at all has looked at their parents.
