The only necessities for the administration of this test are an open space, a stopwatch and two cones or lines. Test subjects are encouraged to perform six 15-meter sprints at a maximal pace between the two cones\u002Flines, with a 10-second rest in between each effort. The distance covered during these short runs corresponds well to the distances children cover during daily play activities. The power that is generated with each sprint can be calculated using the formula: power = (total mass x 15 m²)\u002Ftime³.",[9],null,[21],{"name":22,"affiliation":5,"role":23},"Marco Schnater, MD, PhD","PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",[25],{"name":26,"role":27,"phone":28,"phoneExt":19,"email":29},"Louis Dossche, MD","CONTACT","0031107036084","l.dossche@erasmusmc.nl",[31],{"facility":32,"status":33,"city":34,"state":35,"zip":36,"country":37,"countryCode":38,"cosmosGeoPoint":39,"geoPoint":44,"contacts":45},"Erasmus MC, Sophia Children's Hospital","RECRUITING","Rotterdam","South Holland","3015 GD","Netherlands","NL",{"type":40,"coordinates":41},"Point",[42,43],4.47917,51.9225,{"lat":43,"lon":42},[46],{"name":26,"role":27,"phone":47,"phoneExt":19,"email":29},"00317036084",{"type":23,"investigatorFullName":49,"investigatorTitle":50,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":19,"oldOrganization":19},"Louis Dossche","MD, PhD Candidate","100550549","reference-values-for-the-muscle-power-sprint-test-100550549",false,"NCT06448520","Reference Values for the Muscle Power Sprint Test","Reference Values for the Muscle Power Sprint Test in Children Aged 5-12 Years","Ref MPST","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Age 5-12 years\n* Attending primary education at one of the participating schools or attending participating after-school childcare centers.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Contra-indication for maximal exercise due to cardiac or respiratory morbidities\n* Injuries limiting maximal exercise capacity\n* Known with motor function impairment which may hamper maximal exercise (e.g. neurologic comorbidities)",true,"ALL","5 Years","12 Years",{"count":64,"type":65},480,"ESTIMATED","INTERVENTIONAL",[68],"NA","The goal of this prospective, cross-sectional study is to develop updated reference values for the Muscle Power Sprint Test (MPST) in children aged 5-12 years.\n\nThe main question it aims to answer is:\n\n• What are reference ('normal') values for the MPST in children aged 5-12 years?\n\nParticipants will be asked to perform six short sprints of fifteen meters each, with a ten-second rest between each effort.",[71,72],"Development, Child","Activity, Motor","2025-02-24",{"date":75,"type":76},"2025-02-25","ACTUAL",{"date":78,"type":76},"2024-12-01",{"date":80,"type":65},"2025-09",{"name":5,"class":6},1]
