Family-based weight management programs focus on creating a supportive, positive environment for lifestyle behavior change that promotes healthy growth and development. BHF is a group-based program, and education sessions focus on healthy eating, physical activity, and lifestyle modification for the entire family. The BHF Program consists of 12 weekly education sessions (\\~2 hours each) and 6 relapse-prevention refresher sessions over 1 year (12 months total). The BHF program meets the current recommendations for intensive health behavior and lifestyle treatment (IHBLT) programs from professional groups, and BHF is a recommended program for community adoption and implementation.",[9,15],[26],"BHF Program",[28],{"name":29,"affiliation":5,"role":30},"Jennie Hill, PhD","PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",[32,38],{"name":33,"role":34,"phone":35,"phoneExt":36,"email":37},"BHF Program Coordinator","CONTACT","308.520.7580",null,"bhf@nebraska.edu",{"name":29,"role":34,"phone":39,"phoneExt":36,"email":40},"801-646-6008","jennie.hill@hsc.utah.edu",[42],{"facility":5,"status":43,"city":44,"state":45,"zip":46,"country":47,"countryCode":48,"cosmosGeoPoint":49,"geoPoint":54,"contacts":55},"RECRUITING","Salt Lake City","Utah","84108","United States","US",{"type":50,"coordinates":51},"Point",[52,53],-111.89105,40.76078,{"lat":53,"lon":52},[56],{"name":57,"role":34,"phone":58,"phoneExt":36,"email":59},"Grace Youn","(801) 581-7642","grace.youn@hsc.utah.edu",{"type":30,"investigatorFullName":61,"investigatorTitle":62,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":36,"oldOrganization":36},"Jennie Hill","Associate Professor",[64],{"name":65,"class":66},"National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK)","NIH","100624069","scaling-up-building-healthy-families-100624069",false,"NCT07404839","Scaling up Building Healthy Families","Scaling up Building Healthy Families in Rural Areas and Small Towns","Communities must respond to a call for proposals by submitting a letter of intent and a brief narrative describing the local need for BHF and readiness for implementation. To address this issue, the investigators adapted an EBI-CO, Building Healthy Families (BHF), which includes all materials and training resources necessary for rural program implementation. The pilot study found that when paired with opportunities to learn from the program developers and other community implementation teams, the packaged program led to effective delivery across 4 rural communities. This scale-up study will compare packaged BHF Resources with and without a learning collaborative facilitation strategy, examining outcomes including reach, effectiveness, implementation, and potential for sustainability in rural areas.",[84],"Obesity, Child",[86,87,88,89,90,91],"rural","implementation strategies","family based program","dissemination and implementation science","lifestyle change intervention","family based programs","2026-06-09",{"date":94,"type":95},"2026-06-10","ACTUAL",{"date":97,"type":95},"2025-11-01",{"date":99,"type":78},"2030-06-30",{"name":5,"class":6},1]
