previous surgical intervention or lithotripsy)\n* Patients with self-reported moderate to severe pain on the visual pain scale determined as greater than 5\u002F10\n* Normal vital signs (afebrile)\n* Agreeable to informed consent as dictated by IRB and local practice\n* No contraindications to standard therapy (ie fluids, NSAIDs, opioids, etc.)\n* Compliance with the virtual reality treatment\n* Keeps the headset on for the duration of the experience\n* Understands the instructions\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Age \\\u003C 18 years\n* Pregnant\n* Individuals with chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia (chronic pain may confound results, as patients may have higher than baseline pain levels affecting their response to medications)\n* Individuals with severe anxiety or claustrophobia\n* Individuals with severe motion sickness or previous episodes of motion sickness due to VR (those who may not react well to the VR experience)\n* Individuals with GFR\\\u003C60 or previous documented diagnosis of CKD as they may not be suitable candidate for traditional analgesia\n* Individuals with previous opioid dependence\n* Requirement of immediate surgery (obstructing calculi with concomitant urinary tract infection)\n* Patients with diagnoses meeting admission criteria (sepsis, MI)\n* Audio\u002Fvisual impairment (unable to appreciate stimuli provided by the headset)\n* Patients administered opiates as the first line pain control medication will not be included in final data collection, as opioid administration may result in difficulty consenting and understanding the study protocol \u002F design","ALL","18 Years",{"count":74,"type":75},92,"ESTIMATED","INTERVENTIONAL",[78],"NA","Utilization of VR \u002F AR Calming as an adjunct to pharmacologic pain management for Renal Colic in Emergency Department Patients",[81,82],"Renal Colic","Kidney Stones, Urolithiasis, Hypocitraturia",[81,84,85,86,87,88,89,90,91],"Nephrolithiasis","Urolithiasis","Emergency Department","Pain Management","Virtual Reality","Augmented Reality","Audiovisual Stimulation","Patient Anxiety","2025-07-08",{"date":94,"type":95},"2025-07-17","ACTUAL",{"date":97,"type":95},"2025-04-01",{"date":99,"type":75},"2026-03-31",{"name":5,"class":6},1]
