Injections will be performed under ultrasound (USG) guidance to ensure precise anatomical localization and to enhance procedural safety. During the procedure, the sacral hiatus, sacrococcygeal ligament, and coccygeal bony structures will be visualized, and bone landmarks will be used as references. The fibrous ligamentous attachments in the coccygeal and sacrococcygeal region will be targeted, and injections will be administered to 3-4 periosteal insertion points using a 27G needle, with a maximum of 0.5 mL per site and a total volume not exceeding 2-2.5 mL per session. The procedure will be repeated at 3-week intervals, with a total of 3 to 6 sessions depending on clinical response.",[9],null,[22],{"name":23,"affiliation":5,"role":24},"Merve Dikici Yagli, M.D","PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",[26,30],{"name":23,"role":27,"phone":28,"phoneExt":20,"email":29},"CONTACT","+905387192098","mervedikici1992@gmail.com",{"name":31,"role":27,"phone":32,"phoneExt":20,"email":33},"Yunus Emrah Kosut, M.D","+905355540389","kosutyunus@gmail.com",[35],{"facility":5,"status":36,"city":37,"state":20,"zip":20,"country":38,"countryCode":20,"cosmosGeoPoint":39,"geoPoint":44,"contacts":45},"RECRUITING","Istanbul","Turkey (Türkiye)",{"type":40,"coordinates":41},"Point",[42,43],28.94966,41.01384,{"lat":43,"lon":42},[46],{"name":47,"role":27,"phone":28,"phoneExt":20,"email":29},"Merve Dikici Yaglı, M.D",{"type":24,"investigatorFullName":49,"investigatorTitle":50,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":20,"oldOrganization":20},"Yunus Emrah Koşut","Physician","100636321","ultrasound-guided-dextrose-prolotherapy-for-coccydynia-a-prospective-study-100636321",false,"NCT07564167","Ultrasound-Guided Dextrose Prolotherapy for Coccydynia: A Prospective Study","Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Dextrose Prolotherapy on Pain Severity and Functional Status in Patients With Coccydynia: A Prospective Study","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Age between 18 and 75 years\n* Pain persisting for ≥3 months and refractory to conservative treatment\n* Coccydynia of mechanical or idiopathic origin\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Age \\\u003C18 years or \\>75 years\n* Pregnancy\n* Allergy to the proliferant solution\n* Active infection\n* Use of anticoagulant medications\n* Presence of malignancy\n* Local abscess\n* Hemorrhagic diathesis\n* Certain types of septic arthritis\n* Parafunctional habits","ALL","18 Years","75 Years",{"count":62,"type":63},30,"ESTIMATED","INTERVENTIONAL",[66],"NA","Coccydynia is a musculoskeletal condition characterized by pain in the coccygeal region, particularly exacerbated by sitting, and is associated with impaired quality of life and functional limitation. Although various conservative and interventional treatment options are available, there remains a need for effective and safe alternative therapies, especially in treatment-resistant cases.\n\nProlotherapy is a regenerative treatment modality that aims to reduce pain and improve function by stimulating tissue repair, particularly in ligamentous structures. While there is increasing evidence supporting its effectiveness in mechanical musculoskeletal pain conditions, the literature regarding its use in coccydynia is limited.\n\nThe aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of dextrose prolotherapy on pain severity and functional status in patients diagnosed with coccydynia. This study is designed as a prospective, single-arm, open-label interventional study. Patients will receive 15% dextrose prolotherapy according to a standardized protocol. Pain severity will be assessed using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), and functional status will be evaluated using the Dallas Pain Questionnaire before treatment and at 1 month after completion of the treatment.\n\nThis study aims to provide more comprehensive data on the effectiveness and safety of prolotherapy in coccydynia and to contribute to the currently limited evidence in the literature.",[69],"Coccydynia",[69,9,71],"Ultrasound-Guided Injection","2026-04-27",{"date":74,"type":75},"2026-05-04","ACTUAL",{"date":77,"type":75},"2026-01-15",{"date":79,"type":63},"2026-06-15",{"name":5,"class":6},1]
