It requires to track the spatial position of specific moving targets among visually similar moving distractors, while at the same time detecting briefly flashed events. It was designed to load on attentional control and visuo-spatial working memory. The main objective is to swap two adjacent gems of seven colors to create a line or row of 3 or more gems of the same type. When these gems are aligned, they disappear, and points are earned. The goal is to get as many points as possible until it is impossible to line up gems. Bejeweled 3 offers a variety of game modes that players can freely explore at their own pace, enhancing the overall enjoyment and providing increased variability during each gaming session. These game modes typically have shorter durations, with a single game usually lasting less than 5 minutes. Bejeweled 3 was chosen as it requires fewer attentional resources compared to Eco-Rescue and because it was reported to reduce stress and anxiety in adult samples (Russoniello et al. 2009, 2013).",[15],[35,39,42],{"name":36,"affiliation":37,"role":38},"Daphné Bavelier, Professor","University of Geneva, Switzerland","PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",{"name":40,"affiliation":41,"role":38},"Swann Pichon, Professor","HES - Geneva School of Health Science, Switzerland",{"name":43,"affiliation":44,"role":38},"Tomer Shechner, Professor","University of Haifa, Israel",[46,51],{"name":47,"role":48,"phone":49,"phoneExt":23,"email":50},"Naïma Gradi, PhD Student","CONTACT","+33 6 31 85 49 96","naima.gradi@unige.ch",{"name":40,"role":48,"phone":52,"phoneExt":23,"email":53},"+41 22 558 66 42","swann.pichon@hesge.ch",[55,72],{"facility":56,"status":57,"city":58,"state":23,"zip":23,"country":59,"countryCode":60,"cosmosGeoPoint":61,"geoPoint":66,"contacts":67},"University of Haifa","RECRUITING","Haifa","Israel","IL",{"type":62,"coordinates":63},"Point",[64,65],34.99928,32.81303,{"lat":65,"lon":64},[68,71],{"name":43,"role":48,"phone":69,"phoneExt":23,"email":70},"+972 545 588 522","tshechner@psy.haifa.ac.il",{"name":43,"role":38,"phone":23,"phoneExt":23,"email":23},{"facility":73,"status":57,"city":74,"state":75,"zip":76,"country":77,"countryCode":78,"cosmosGeoPoint":79,"geoPoint":83,"contacts":84},"University of Geneva","Geneva","Canton of Geneva","1202","Switzerland","CH",{"type":62,"coordinates":80},[81,82],6.14569,46.20222,{"lat":82,"lon":81},[85,86,87,88],{"name":47,"role":48,"phone":23,"phoneExt":23,"email":50},{"name":40,"role":48,"phone":52,"phoneExt":23,"email":53},{"name":40,"role":38,"phone":23,"phoneExt":23,"email":23},{"name":36,"role":38,"phone":23,"phoneExt":23,"email":23},{"type":90,"investigatorFullName":23,"investigatorTitle":23,"investigatorAffiliation":23,"oldNameTitle":23,"oldOrganization":23},"SPONSOR",[92,93,94],{"name":37,"class":6},{"name":56,"class":6},{"name":95,"class":6},"Swiss National Science Foundation","100510246","video-game-play-to-alleviate-adolescent-anxiety-100510246",false,"NCT05923944","Video Game Play to Alleviate Adolescent Anxiety","Evaluating the Effect of Gamified Cognitive Training and of Casual Videogame Play on Anxiety in Adolescents: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n1. At least two lines of research have been explored in the past years in this area. First, studies have tested the anxiolytic effects of casual video games, hypothesizing that, through the induction of flow, these games can effectively distract individuals from anxiety-related thoughts and feelings. Second, the bidirectional link between poor attentional control and higher anxiety has led to the design of novel interventions aiming to improve attentional control such as working memory training studies. Importantly, action video games, classified as a distinct gaming genre, have been shown to enhance attentional control. In this study, we aim to compare the effects of action video game play and casual game play to a no-training group, assessing their potential to alleviate anxiety when delivered entirely online. The goal of this three- arms randomized controlled trial is to evaluate the feasibility of a 6-week video game training intervention to reduce adolescent anxiety-related symptoms. We will also examine the efficacy of the proposed treatment when entirely deployed at adolescents' home.",[115,116],"Anxiety","Anxiety Disorders and Symptoms",[118,119,120,121],"Digital mental health","Video Games","Cognitive Training","Emotion Regulation","2025-05-20",{"date":124,"type":125},"2025-05-23","ACTUAL",{"date":127,"type":125},"2024-06-01",{"date":129,"type":109},"2026-06",{"name":5,"class":6},2]
