Videolaryngoscopes have been increasingly adopted in clinical practice because they improve glottic visualisation; however, evidence of their benefit in paediatric patients remains inconsistent.\n\nThe VIDEOKIDS trial is a large, pragmatic, international, multicentre, randomised controlled trial designed to compare videolaryngoscopy with direct laryngoscopy as the initial technique for tracheal intubation in paediatric patients undergoing surgery under general anaesthesia. The primary objective is to determine whether videolaryngoscopy increases the rate of successful intubation on the first attempt compared with direct laryngoscopy.",[81,82,83,84],"Tracheal Intubation","Videolaryngoscopy","General Anesthesia","Difficult Airway Intubation",[86,87,88,89,90,91],"tracheal intubation","videolaryngoscopy","laryngoscopy","Paediatric airway","Airway management","Randomised controlled trial","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-04-17",{"date":95,"type":96},"2026-04-22","ACTUAL",{"date":98,"type":75},"2026-05-01",{"date":100,"type":75},"2027-12-30",{"name":5,"class":6},1]
