Early diagnosis of these conditions is essential for optimal treatment. Anatomic pathology is the conventional method used to analyze muscle lesions, but it requires several weeks to obtain results. Full-field optical coherence tomography (OCT), a non-invasive imaging technique, could offer advantages in terms of speed and resolution for visualizing muscle inflammation.\n\nThis research project compares histological pathology and full-field OCT for the analysis of muscle biopsies from healthy individuals and patients suspected of having myositis. The aim of this study is to establish an OCT reference standard by analyzing control muscle biopsies and then comparing muscle inflammation in confirmed cases of myositis. The advantages and limitations of both methods will also be evaluated.",[25,26],"Myositis","Health Adult Subjects",[28,29,30,31],"anatomopathology","Full field optical coherence tomography","muscle biopsies","Myositis and healthy patients","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-04-20",{"date":35,"type":36},"2026-04-27","ACTUAL",{"date":38,"type":20},"2026-04",{"date":40,"type":20},"2028-12",{"name":42,"class":43},"Centre Hospitalier de Mâcon","OTHER",1,{"id":46,"slug":47,"hasResults":11,"nctId":48,"briefTitle":49,"officialTitle":50,"acronym":51,"eligibilityCriteria":52,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":53,"enrollmentInfo":54,"targetDuration":56,"studyType":22,"phases":4,"briefSummary":57,"conditions":58,"keywords":61,"overallStatus":64,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":65,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":66,"startDateStruct":68,"completionDateStruct":70,"leadSponsor":72,"locationsCount":44},"100550998","histopathological-analysis-versus-full-field-optical-coherence-tomography-of-minor-salivary-gland-biopsy-in-suspect-sjogren-syndrome-100550998","NCT06454370","Histopathological Analysis Versus Full-field Optical Coherence Tomography of Minor Salivary Gland Biopsy in Suspect Sjogren Syndrome","Histopathological Analysis of Minor Salivary Gland Biopsy Following Dynamic Full-field Optical Coherence Tomography, a Comparison to Conventional Histopathological Findings in Patients Suspect Sjogren Syndrome.","TOCOSS","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patient \\> 18 years of age with suspected Sjogren Syndrome received minor gland salivary biopsy\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Inability to perform dynamic full-field optical coherence tomography observation at the moment of temporal artery biopsy","99 Years",{"count":55,"type":20},30,"1 Month","Primary Sjögren syndrome (pSS) is a systemic autoimmune disease that mainly affects the exocrine glands leading to severe dryness of mucosal surfaces, principally in the mouth and eyes. The other clinical manifestations are fatigue and musculoskeletal pain. Diagnosis of pSS associates clinical abnormalities with specific antibodies (Ro\u002FSSA and La\u002FSSB antibodies) or histopathological criteria of a minor salivary gland biopsy (the presence and number of lymphocytic focus, as well as chronicity findings like acinar atrophy, ductal dilatation or fibrosis). Apart from its variable sensitivity, one of the weaknesses of minor salivary gland biopsy is the delay in obtaining the result due to the time required to prepare the sample for histological analysis.\n\nOur group recently demonstrated the use of full-field optical coherence tomography (FF-OCT) to visualize structural changes associated with the inflammatory processes in Giant Cell Arteritis (temporal artery biopsy examination). It may suggests a further use of dynamic FF-OCT of minor salivary gland biopsy to visualize structural changes associated with the lymhocytic focus to ensure rapid on-site diagnosis of pSS.",[59,60],"Sjogren's Syndrome","Tomography Optical Coherence",[62,63],"Minor Salivary gland biopsy","Tomography, Optical Coherence","RECRUITING","2024-06-11",{"date":67,"type":36},"2024-06-12",{"date":69,"type":36},"2024-06-07",{"date":71,"type":20},"2024-12-07",{"name":42,"class":43},""]
