Furthermore, new and re-emerging pathogens are often first noticed in primary care (PC). The POS-ARI-PC study is a long-term study, with the aim of describing the nature of ARI in adults and children presenting to PC across Europe. The POS-ARI-PC study will provide critically important data on the presentation and management of ARI, and build a research-ready infrastructure for studies related to the treatment, diagnosis, and prevention of ARI in primary care settings. Additional observational studies will be embedded and use the infrastructure developed in POS-ARI-PC.",[24],"Acute Respiratory Tract Infection","RECRUITING","2026-04-09",{"date":28,"type":29},"2026-04-14","ACTUAL",{"date":31,"type":29},"2024-02-22",{"date":33,"type":20},"2026-07",{"name":35,"class":36},"European Clinical Research Alliance for Infectious Diseases (ECRAID)","OTHER",3,{"id":39,"slug":40,"hasResults":11,"nctId":41,"briefTitle":42,"officialTitle":43,"acronym":44,"eligibilityCriteria":45,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":17,"minAge":46,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":47,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":21,"phases":4,"briefSummary":49,"conditions":50,"keywords":52,"overallStatus":25,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":55,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":56,"startDateStruct":58,"completionDateStruct":60,"leadSponsor":62,"locationsCount":63},"100501821","pos-ari-er-observational-study-of-acute-respiratory-infections-100501821","NCT05814237","POS-ARI-ER Observational Study of Acute Respiratory Infections","Perpetual Observational Study of Acute Respiratory Infections Presenting Via Emergency Rooms and Other Acute Hospital Care Settings","POS-ARI-ER","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Age ≥ 18 years\n* Clinical suspicion of a new episode of acute respiratory tract infection, with onset in the last 10 days\n* Patient presents to an emergency room or secondary care setting\n* Informed consent is provided by patient or their legal representative\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patient has been transferred from another hospital\n* Patient admitted to hospital for \\>2 days at the time of enrolment\n* Patient has been previously enrolled in the POS-ARI-ER study","18 Years",{"count":48,"type":20},11750,"Acute respiratory infections (ARI) are one of the most frequent reasons for hospital admission and antibiotic use, and can be caused by a broad range of pathogens, including respiratory viruses with proven epidemic potential, e.g. influenza and coronaviruses.
