It is linked to higher risks of cognitive decline, brain atrophy, and neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's. Bariatric surgery has shown benefits in reducing fat and systemic inflammation, which may improve cognitive function. However, the factors predicting such improvements remain unclear.\n\nObjective: To evaluate the effect of bariatric surgery on cognitive performance using virtual reality (Neurotracker) and the Neuropsi neuropsychological battery.\n\nMethods: This prospective quasi-experimental study will include patients with morbid obesity who are candidates for bariatric surgery. Cognitive performance will be evaluated using the Neurotracker virtual reality tool and the Neuropsi neuropsychological battery. Participants will complete Neurotracker sessions three times weekly for two weeks before surgery, and again at 3- and 6-months post-surgery. The Neuropsi assessment will be conducted once prior to surgery and repeated at 6 months afterward. Statistical analyses will compare cognitive performance before and after the surgical intervention.\n\nExpected Outcomes: The study aims to identify measurable improvements in cognitive function after weight loss from bariatric surgery, evaluated through both traditional neuropsychological tests and immersive virtual reality tools. These results could improve understanding of the cognitive benefits of surgical obesity treatment and the factors that predict these outcomes.",[29,30],"Obesity (Disorder)","Obesity and Obesity-related Medical Conditions",[32,33,34,35,36],"Bariatric Surgery","Cognition","NeuroTracker","Neuropsi","Obesity","RECRUITING","2025-11-13",{"date":40,"type":41},"2025-11-17","ACTUAL",{"date":43,"type":41},"2024-06-25",{"date":45,"type":23},"2026-03-01",{"name":47,"class":48},"Hospital General de México Dr. Eduardo Liceaga","OTHER_GOV",{"id":50,"slug":51,"hasResults":11,"nctId":52,"briefTitle":53,"officialTitle":53,"acronym":54,"eligibilityCriteria":55,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":18,"minAge":19,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":56,"targetDuration":58,"studyType":59,"phases":4,"briefSummary":60,"conditions":61,"keywords":65,"overallStatus":37,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":70,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":71,"startDateStruct":73,"completionDateStruct":75,"leadSponsor":77,"locationsCount":78},"100576520","types-of-photoplethysmographic-waves-in-adult-patients-with-septic-shock-100576520","NCT06786364","Types of Photoplethysmographic Waves in Adult Patients with Septic Shock","SHOCK PLETH","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Adult patients of 18 years of age and above dignossed with septic shock according to the definition stated in Sepsis 3.0\n* Patients with axillary temperature above 36°C\n* Patients and\u002For family that agree to participate in such study and sign the informed consentment\n* Patients that tolerate supine position\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patients with Cardiogenic shock, hipovolemic, obstructive and distributive (neurogenic, anafilactic) shock the exception being septic shock\n* Patients with history of any type of cardiac arrhythmia\n* Patients with history of chronic hepatic disease\n* Patients with limited or diffuse systemic sclerosis\n* Patients that have scarring, nail polish or thickened nails that may impede the proper placement and accurate measurement of photoplethysmography with the pulse oximeter\n* Patients with history of heart insufficiency P- atients with septic shock that already have vasopressor aggents",{"count":57,"type":23},116,"1 Day","OBSERVATIONAL","The objective of this study is to identify the types of Photoplethysmographic waves present in adults with septic shock and determine whether these waves correlate with other variables of tissue hypoperfusion such as capillary refil, serum lactate and mottling score.",[62,63,64],"Shock Septic","Photoplethysmography","Waveform",[66,67,68,63,69],"shock septic","waveform","vasodilation","arterial tone","2025-01-15",{"date":72,"type":41},"2025-01-22",{"date":74,"type":41},"2024-11-01",{"date":76,"type":23},"2025-05-30",{"name":47,"class":48},1,""]
