This study plans to explore the effect of curcumin as a potential medical treatment in HIV-uninfected and infected women with mild precancerous lesions of the cervix or recently treated high-grade precancerous lesions at risk for persistent HPV infection. About 200 women with low-grade precancerous lesions of the cervix or recently treated high-grade precancerous lesions will be enrolled to either insert 2000 mg of curcumin capsules in their vagina once a week or placebo after undergoing colposcopy or loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP). They will have a repeat visit in 6 months where they will undergo a Pap smear and HPV test to determine if there are higher rates of HPV clearance after curcumin administration. If HPV is present or the Pap smear is abnormal, patients will then undergo colposcopic examination to evaluate cervical histology.",[63],"Neoplasm Cervix",[31,33,65,66,67,68],"Oncology","Infectious disease","HPV","Preventive medicine","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-05-05",{"date":72,"type":39},"2026-05-08",{"date":74,"type":21},"2027-04",{"date":76,"type":21},"2028-10",{"name":45,"class":46},{"id":79,"slug":80,"hasResults":11,"nctId":81,"briefTitle":82,"officialTitle":82,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":83,"healthyVolunteers":16,"sex":17,"minAge":18,"maxAge":84,"enrollmentInfo":85,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":87,"briefSummary":89,"conditions":90,"keywords":93,"overallStatus":35,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":95,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":96,"startDateStruct":98,"completionDateStruct":100,"leadSponsor":102,"locationsCount":103},"100564391","screening-strategies-among-high-risk-populations-for-anal-cancer-100564391","NCT06628570","Screening Strategies Among High-risk Populations for Anal Cancer","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* 30-80 years of age\n* Individuals with chronic impaired immune status\n* History of high-grade lower genital tract neoplasia (LGTN), Zubrod Performance Status of 0-2;\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patients treated for aHSIL less than 6 months before screening,\n* History of anal cancer and pregnant women.","80 Years",{"count":86,"type":21},500,[88],"NA","The goal of the proposed research is to 1) examine the performance of emerging screening methods for anal high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (aHSIL), a precancerous condition of anal cancer, among populations at high risk for anal cancer and 2) characterize DNA methylation, immunologic response, and environmental factors associated with aHSIL.",[91,92],"Neoplasms","HPV-Related Anal Squamous Cell Carcinoma",[31,33,94],"Screening","2025-09-02",{"date":97,"type":39},"2025-09-08",{"date":99,"type":39},"2024-12-16",{"date":101,"type":21},"2027-10",{"name":45,"class":46},4,""]
