The main question it aims to answer is:\n\nDoes treatment with the Neubie improve symptoms and time to resolution of back pain compared to standard of care?\n\nResearchers will compare a 12 session treatment physical therapy regimen using the Neubie to standard of care to see if there is a difference in symptom severity and time to resolution.\n\nParticipants will:\n\n* Visit the clinic 2 times a week to undergo active physical therapy treatments with or without electrical stimulation from the Neubie.\n* Undergo testing and fill out surveys on evaluation and final session on quality of life, disability, pain, and spinal mobility.",[27],"Back Pain, Low","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2025-05-19",{"date":31,"type":32},"2025-05-22","ACTUAL",{"date":34,"type":21},"2025-06",{"date":36,"type":21},"2026-03",{"name":38,"class":39},"NeuFit - Neurological Fitness and Education","INDUSTRY",{"id":41,"slug":42,"hasResults":11,"nctId":43,"briefTitle":44,"officialTitle":45,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":46,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":47,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":49,"briefSummary":50,"conditions":51,"keywords":55,"overallStatus":61,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":62,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":63,"startDateStruct":65,"completionDateStruct":67,"leadSponsor":69,"locationsCount":70},"100548481","impact-of-direct-current-electrical-stimulation-on-treatment-of-lumbosacral-radiculopathy-100548481","NCT06421558","Impact of Direct Current Electrical Stimulation on Treatment of Lumbosacral Radiculopathy","Impact of Direct Current Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation on Physical Therapy Treatment of Lumbosacral Radiculopathy","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Must show evidence of lumbo-sacral radiculopathy as determined by EMG and straight leg raise test.\n* Must be able to attend weekly sessions for the 6-week period of the study (no extended travel)\n* Must be at least 18 years old.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Currently pregnant\n* Cardiac pacemaker\n* Active or recent cancer\n* Active or recent blood clots\n* History of epilepsy\n* Open wounds\n* Spinal fusion surgery",{"count":48,"type":21},150,[24],"This study will compare two methods of electrical stimulation (alternating current and direct current) as an adjunctive therapy to treating lumbosacral radiculopathy. Both types of electrical stimulation have been used in clinical practice for physical therapy, however direct current stimulation is much less common and there is less known about its impact on physical therapy outcomes. The aim of this project is to show the efficacy of a novel device, the Neubie direct current device, compared to traditional TENS unit in clinical physical therapy treatment of radiculopathy.
