Classic thermal ablation modalities use radiofrequency energy or cryo-energy to create cardiac tissue lesions. Irreversible electroporation (IRE) using pulsed field energy (PFA) is a novel technology for cardiac tissue ablation. Initial studies have shown favorable outcome data in patients with AF treated by performing PVI using PFA. However, the freedom of AF has not yet proven superior to existing thermal ablation methods and appears similarly associated with suboptimal lesion durability, leading to electrical reconnection. The purpose of this study is to determine if freedom of atrial fibrillation may be improved by delivering more and better targeted pulsed field ablations.",[27],"Atrial Fibrillation",[29,27],"Pulsed Field Ablation","RECRUITING","2026-06-25",{"date":33,"type":34},"2026-06-30","ACTUAL",{"date":36,"type":34},"2025-06-20",{"date":38,"type":21},"2028-06",{"name":40,"class":41},"R&D Cardiologie","OTHER",1,{"id":44,"slug":45,"hasResults":11,"nctId":46,"briefTitle":47,"officialTitle":47,"acronym":48,"eligibilityCriteria":49,"healthyVolunteers":50,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":51,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":53,"phases":4,"briefSummary":54,"conditions":55,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":30,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":56,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":57,"startDateStruct":59,"completionDateStruct":61,"leadSponsor":63,"locationsCount":42},"100472449","evaluation-of-ablation-lesions-using-cardiovascular-magnetic-resonance-imaging-100472449","NCT05432024","Evaluation of Ablation Lesions Using Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging","ENABLE-CMR","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Adult patients (age ≥18 years old)\n* Paroxysmal or persistent atrial fibrillation, meeting criteria of the 2020 European Society of Cardiology Guidelines for diagnosis and management of atrial fibrillation\n* Patients scheduled to undergo catheter ablation for cardiac arrhythmia using one of the following techniques: Radiofrequency ablation (High power, short duration), Ultra-low temperature cryo ablation, or Pulsed field ablation\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Known (or suspected) allergic reaction to gadolinium\n* Contraindications for MRI (such as claustrophobia, certain implants, devices, high body mass index).\n* Pregnancy or breastfeeding\n* Prior intervention in the left atrium (ablation or surgery)",true,{"count":52,"type":21},60,"OBSERVATIONAL","Ineffective ablation lesions can cause arrhythmia recurrence after catheter ablation for cardiac arrhythmia.
