As the first true North American multicenter CS collaborative with a uniform dedicated and comprehensive case report form, the high patient volumes and wide spectrum of clinical acuity seen at these institutions will provide valuable insight into the factors associated with adverse outcomes; and will serve as a blueprint for future clinical trial designs that may better inform clinical practice.",[25,26],"Cardiogenic Shock","Acute Myocardial Infarction","RECRUITING","2026-03-18",{"date":30,"type":31},"2026-03-20","ACTUAL",{"date":33,"type":31},"2022-05-25",{"date":35,"type":20},"2027-12-31",{"name":37,"class":38},"STAVROS G DRAKOS","OTHER",3,{"id":41,"slug":42,"hasResults":11,"nctId":43,"briefTitle":44,"officialTitle":45,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":46,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":47,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":49,"phases":50,"briefSummary":52,"conditions":53,"keywords":55,"overallStatus":27,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":58,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":59,"startDateStruct":61,"completionDateStruct":63,"leadSponsor":65,"locationsCount":66},"100304092","lvad-conditioning-for-cardiac-recovery-100304092","NCT03238690","LVAD Conditioning for Cardiac Recovery","Sequential Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) Unloading and Conditioning to Induce Sustained Cardiac Recovery","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Diagnosed with heart failure undergoing LVAD implantation as a bridge to transplant\n* Enrolled in the Effects of Mechanical Unloading on Myocardial Function and Structure study (IRB 30622)\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Neither the subject nor the subject's representative is willing to provide written consent for participation\n* Subjects with adverse events leading to hospitalization during the optimum unloading phase are excluded from participation in the controlled reloading phase",{"count":48,"type":20},100,"INTERVENTIONAL",[51],"NA","The purpose of this study is to investigate the potential recovery of heart function in end-stage heart failure patients supported with a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) through applying a myocardial conditioning protocol. During myocardial conditioning, LVAD speed is reduced gradually in order to increase the work load of the heart.
