It will also study how safe this treatment is and whether the timing of rTMS changes how well it works.\n\nThe main questions it aims to answer are:\n\n* Does this combined treatment lower symptoms of post-traumatic stress?\n* Does it work better when rTMS is given before or after expressive writing?\n\nResearchers will compare three groups to see which approach works best:\n\n* rTMS given before expressive writing\n* rTMS given after expressive writing\n* Sham stimulation (a look-alike procedure that does not provide real stimulation)\n\nParticipants will:\n\n* Take part in sessions that include expressive writing about emotional experiences\n* Receive either real rTMS or sham stimulation\n* Complete questionnaires about post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, and mood\n* Have their heart rate and skin responses measured during the sessions\n* Be assessed before the study, after the sessions, and one month later\n\nThis study includes adults aged 18 to 65 who have experienced at least one traumatic or highly stressful event and report symptoms of post-traumatic stress.",[28],"Healthy Adults",[30,31,32,33,34,35],"Post-traumatic stress","rTMS","randomized controlled trial","repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation","transcranial magnetic stimulation","TMS","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-04-28",{"date":39,"type":40},"2026-05-05","ACTUAL",{"date":42,"type":22},"2026-06",{"date":44,"type":22},"2027-02",{"name":46,"class":47},"Servicio Canario de Salud","OTHER",2,{"id":50,"slug":51,"hasResults":11,"nctId":52,"briefTitle":53,"officialTitle":54,"acronym":55,"eligibilityCriteria":56,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":17,"minAge":57,"maxAge":58,"enrollmentInfo":59,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":23,"phases":61,"briefSummary":62,"conditions":63,"keywords":66,"overallStatus":73,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":74,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":75,"startDateStruct":77,"completionDateStruct":79,"leadSponsor":81,"locationsCount":82},"100577029","evaluation-of-a-digital-school-based-intervention-for-the-primary-prevention-of-eating-disorders-in-pre-adolescents-preta-program-100577029","NCT06792981","Evaluation of a Digital School-Based Intervention for the Primary Prevention of Eating Disorders in Pre-Adolescents (PRETA Program)","Effectiveness and Cost-effectiveness of an Online School-based Program for Reducing Risk Factors in Pre-adolescents (PRETA): Protocol for a Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial","PRETA","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Enrolled in the fifth or sixth year of primary education.\n* Informed consent provided by the student's legal guardians and responsible teacher to participate.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Significant comprehension difficulties that limit adequate participation in the program and questionnaires.","10 Years","13 Years",{"count":60,"type":22},1068,[25],"Background:\n\nEating Disorders (ED) are mental health conditions, characterized by pathological behaviors toward food intake or a persistent obsession with weight control. EDs have a high prevalence among pre-adolescents in developed countries and pose a significant economic burden. Preventive interventions targeting at-risk populations for ED have proven effective. The use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) facilitates access to larger population groups while also reducing costs.\n\nObjectives:\n\n* Develop and validate a universally applied intervention (PRETA), mediated by ICTs, to reduce eating-disorder risk and modifiable risk factors, through cultural adaptation and adjustment of the POtsdam Prevention at Schools (POPS) Program to preadolescents.\n* Assess the efficacy of the PRETA Program through a randomized controlled trial (RCT).\n* Evaluate the efficiency of the PRETA Program from a social perspective. Methodology The PRETA Program uses 9 online sessions with interactive activities for pre- adolescents, plus education for their families and teachers.\n\nIts content includes addressing key factors in the development of ED, such as eating habits, beauty standards, and media literacy, as well as activities aimed at strengthening psychological dimensions (self-esteem, emotional regulation, problem-solving, psychological flexibility, and resilience) and social skills, including communication styles and distinguishing between jokes and bullying.\n\nThe study involves schools being randomly assigned to either the PRETA Program or regular health activities.
