Critically ill child\n2. Children with documented chronic illnesses (e.g., known renal failure, known liver disease)\n3. Children with known cases of thalassemia\n4. Children with severe anaemia requiring transfusion\n5. Children who received blood transfusion within the preceding 3 months",true,"ALL","6 Months","12 Years",{"count":20,"type":21},60,"ESTIMATED","INTERVENTIONAL",[24],"PHASE4","The goal of this clinical trial is to find out whether Iron (III)-hydroxide polymaltose complex (IPC) given on an alternate-day schedule works as well as daily dosing in treating iron deficiency anaemia in children. The study will also look at the safety and tolerability of IPC.\n\nThe main questions this study aims to answer are:\n\nDoes alternate-day oral IPC improve haemoglobin levels and serum ferritin level as effectively as daily oral IPC?\n\nDoes alternate-day dosing reduce gastrointestinal side effects compared to daily dosing?\n\nDoes alternate-day dosing improve treatment adherence in children?\n\nResearchers will compare alternate-day IPC with daily IPC to determine the most effective and well-tolerated dosing schedule for children with iron deficiency anaemia.\n\nParticipants will:\n\nReceive oral Iron (III)-hydroxide polymaltose complex either daily or on alternate days for 12 weeks treatment period\n\nAttend regular clinic visits for clinical assessment and blood investigations\n\nBe monitored for adverse effects, adherence to treatment, and improvement in haemoglobin and serum ferritin levels",[27],"Iron Deficiency Anemia","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-01-29",{"date":31,"type":32},"2026-02-05","ACTUAL",{"date":34,"type":21},"2026-02-01",{"date":36,"type":21},"2027-01-31",{"name":38,"class":39},"University of Medicine, Mandalay","OTHER",2,""]
