TACE is a hepatic artery embolization technique involving the injection of a blocking agent and a chemotherapy agent to treat liver cancers. Currently, contrast enhanced magnetic resonance imaging or computed tomography are used to assess disease response 1-2 months after TACE treatment, but ultrasound may be a less expensive, earlier alternative. CEUS is an imaging procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to generate images of the body after administering Lumason, an imaging agent used to enhance visualization of blood flow on ultrasounds. CEUS is able to be performed during the TACE procedure, making it possible to evaluate treatment response earlier than standard techniques. CEUS may be an effective method to evaluate treatment response more accurately and much earlier than current standard evaluation methods.",[26],"Liver Neoplasms","RECRUITING","2026-02-12",{"date":30,"type":31},"2026-02-17","ACTUAL",{"date":33,"type":31},"2024-08-07",{"date":35,"type":20},"2028-01-01",{"name":37,"class":38},"john eisenbrey","OTHER",1,{"id":41,"slug":42,"hasResults":11,"nctId":43,"briefTitle":44,"officialTitle":45,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":46,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":47,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":21,"phases":49,"briefSummary":50,"conditions":51,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":27,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":28,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":54,"startDateStruct":55,"completionDateStruct":57,"leadSponsor":59,"locationsCount":39},"100488578","phase-2-contrast-enhanced-ultrasound-imaging-for-diagnosing-recurrent-renal-cell-carcinoma-rcc-post-ablation-100488578","NCT05641935","Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound Imaging for Diagnosing Recurrent Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) Post Ablation","Multi-Modality Detection of RCC Recurrence Post Ablation","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Previously received cryotherapy or microwave therapy of RCC\n* Has available contrast enhanced (CE)-MRI or CE-CT imaging prior to ablative therapy\n* Have previously had or are scheduled to have a contrast-enhanced MRI\u002FCT for the monitoring of RCC recurrence within 4 weeks of the CEUS study\n* Be at least 18 years of age\n* Be medically stable\n* If a female of child-bearing age, must have a negative pregnancy test\n* Have signed Informed Consent to participate in the study\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patients who are medically unstable, patients who are seriously or terminally ill, and patients whose clinical course is unpredictable\n* Patients with known sensitivities to the components of Lumason",{"count":48,"type":20},210,[23],"This phase II trial studies how well contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) works for diagnosing patients with renal cell cancer (RCC) that has come back (recurrent) after an ablation.
