The nutrition method being tested is a structured nutrition delivery plan, called the SeND Home pathway, that involves TPN, oral nutrition supplements, and the use of a device (called an indirect calorimeter or IC) to measure calorie needs. Participants will be randomly assigned (like the flip of a coin) to the SeND Home program or standard of care nutrition. In the SeND Home program, participants will receive TPN, followed by oral nutrition supplements (shakes) for 4 weeks after discharge. The control group will follow standard of care nutrition delivery that begins during ICU stay and concludes at hospital discharge. Participants in both groups will undergo non-invasive tests that measure how much energy (calories) they are using, body composition, and muscle mass and complete walking and strength tests, and surveys about quality of life.",[27],"Abdominal Trauma",[29,30,31,32,33],"precision nutrition","critical care","trauma","parenteral nutrition","indirect calorimetry","RECRUITING","2026-05-04",{"date":37,"type":38},"2026-05-06","ACTUAL",{"date":40,"type":38},"2024-04-12",{"date":42,"type":21},"2027-06-30",{"name":44,"class":45},"Duke University","OTHER",1,{"id":48,"slug":49,"hasResults":11,"nctId":50,"briefTitle":51,"officialTitle":52,"acronym":53,"eligibilityCriteria":54,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":17,"minAge":55,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":56,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":58,"phases":4,"briefSummary":59,"conditions":60,"keywords":62,"overallStatus":34,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":67,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":68,"startDateStruct":70,"completionDateStruct":72,"leadSponsor":74,"locationsCount":46},"100487501","the-psean-study---study-protocol-100487501","NCT05627908","The PseAn Study - Study Protocol","Detection of Post-traumatic Abdominal Pseudoaneurysms by CEUS and CT: A Prospective Comparative Global Study","PseAn","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* adult patients (18 years old and above) with proven blunt or penetrating splenic and\u002For liver and\u002For renal trauma as shown by a CT scan and classified according to the American Injury Scale American Association for Surgery (AAST) Organ Injury Scale (OIS) will be included\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* minor to 18 years old","18 Years",{"count":57,"type":21},385,"OBSERVATIONAL","The researchers aim to study the role of contrast ultrasound in detecting post-traumatic splenic, hepatic, and renal PAs compared with the gold standard of CT with intravenous contrast at different follow-up time points, and whether it can replace CT scan in the follow-up of solid organ injuries",[27,61],"Follow-up in Abdominal Trauma",[31,63,64,65,66],"CT scan","CEUS","follow up","abdominal pseudoaneurism","2026-04-13",{"date":69,"type":38},"2026-04-16",{"date":71,"type":38},"2022-10-01",{"date":73,"type":21},"2027-12-31",{"name":75,"class":45},"Niguarda Hospital",{"id":77,"slug":78,"hasResults":11,"nctId":79,"briefTitle":80,"officialTitle":81,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":82,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":17,"minAge":55,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":83,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":58,"phases":4,"briefSummary":85,"conditions":86,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":89,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":90,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":91,"startDateStruct":93,"completionDateStruct":95,"leadSponsor":97,"locationsCount":46},"100601427","clinical-outcomes-of-non-indicated-staged-laparotomies-in-abdominal-trauma-100601427","NCT07110350","Clinical Outcomes of Non-Indicated Staged Laparotomies in Abdominal Trauma","Clinical Characteristics and Outcomes of Non-Indicated Staged Laparotomies in Abdominal Trauma Patients: A Single-Center Retrospective Study","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* This study included patients with abdominal trauma who were admitted to Far Eastern Memorial Hospital and received exploratory laparotomy between January 1, 2013, and December 31, 2024.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patients who experienced cardiac arrest prior to hospital arrival (OHCA) or in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA).\n* Patients with an Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) score ≥ 4 in any body region other than the abdomen.\n* Patients who died within 24 hours after the most recent surgical procedure.",{"count":84,"type":21},350,"The goal of this observational study is to understand how often staged operations are performed in abdominal trauma patients without meeting standard clinical criteria, and to explore related clinical characteristics and outcomes.
