Minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, particularly angle surgery, has advanced recently, allowing clear visualization of angle structures like the trabecular meshwork and Schlemm's canal using surgical goniolens. Techniques for angle intervention include widening the angle, reopening closed angles, and rebuilding outflow pathways using methods such as laser peripheral iridotomy, Argon laser peripheral iridoplasty, and mechanical separation of adhered tissues. Our research team plans to conduct imaging studies to track the healing of angle tissues post-surgery, aiming to support innovation and standardization of minimally invasive angle surgery.",[24,25,26,27,28],"Angle-closure Glaucoma","Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery","Goniosynechialysis","Goniotomy","Glaucoma","RECRUITING","2025-12-04",{"date":32,"type":33},"2025-12-12","ACTUAL",{"date":35,"type":33},"2023-12-01",{"date":37,"type":20},"2025-12-30",{"name":39,"class":40},"Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-sen University","OTHER",1,{"id":43,"slug":44,"hasResults":11,"nctId":45,"briefTitle":46,"officialTitle":47,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":48,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":15,"minAge":49,"maxAge":50,"enrollmentInfo":51,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":21,"phases":4,"briefSummary":53,"conditions":54,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":29,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":56,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":57,"startDateStruct":59,"completionDateStruct":61,"leadSponsor":63,"locationsCount":41},"100482560","the-beijing-angle-closure-progression-study-100482560","NCT05563623","The Beijing Angle Closure Progression Study","The Beijing Angle Closure Progression Study (BAPS)","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* \"Static\" gonioscopy identifying 6 or more clock hours of angle circumference in which the posterior (usually pigmented) trabecular meshwork cannot be seen in both eyes with no peripheral anterior synechiae, and normal intraocular pressure (IOP), optic nerve and visual field.\n* Able to provide informed consent\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Any evidence of primary angle closure (a narrow angle as defined above, but with PAS and\u002For IOP \\> 21 mmHg) or primary angle closure glaucoma (visual field defect or glaucomatous optic neuropathy).\n* Previous intraocular surgery or laser treatment, such as cataract surgery, laser trabeculoplasty, trabeculectomy, laser peripheral iridectomy, and laser iridoplasty\n* Sign of prior acute attack, such as glaucomatous fleck, keratic precipitates, or iris atrophy.\n* Anterior segment structural abnormalities shown by examination, such as iris or ciliary body tumor.\n* Severe health problems precluding follow-up such as end-stage heart disease, kidney disease, or lung disease, or terminal cancer.\n* Severe eye diseases, such as cataract, macular disease, and retinal detachment.","40 Years","75 Years",{"count":52,"type":20},825,"The Beijing angle closure progression study (BAPS) aims to explore the 5-year incidence of PACS progressing to PAC or PACG and to determine the possible risk factors of disease progression, which may provide the evidence for choosing the accurate strategies in the management of PACS.",[55],"Angle-Closure Glaucoma","2022-09-29",{"date":58,"type":33},"2022-10-03",{"date":60,"type":33},"2022-08-04",{"date":62,"type":20},"2030-12-31",{"name":64,"class":40},"Peking University People's Hospital","Angle Closure Glaucoma"]
