Reduced ankle stability may negatively affect athletic performance and increase injury risk. Taping methods are commonly used in sports settings to support the ankle joint and enhance functional performance; however, limited comparative evidence exists in basketball players.\n\nIn this non-randomized, fixed-sequence crossover study, healthy male basketball players aged 18 to 30 years will receive both kinesio taping and dynamic taping applications separated by a one-week interval. Kinesio taping will be applied during the first session and dynamic taping during the second session. Each participant will serve as their own control. Performance assessments will be conducted immediately before and after each taping application.\n\nOutcome measures include dynamic balance assessed using the Y-Balance Test, vertical jump performance assessed using a mobile application-based jump test, and lower extremity visuomotor reaction time assessed using a visual stimulus-response task.\n\nAll procedures are non-invasive and associated with minimal risk. The findings are expected to contribute to evidence-based taping strategies aimed at improving athletic performance and supporting ankle function in basketball players.",[29,30,31,32,33],"Ankle Stability","Balance Performance","Vertical Jump Performance","Reaction Time","Basketball Players",[35,36,37,38,39],"basketball","postural balance","ankle","reaction time","athletic tape","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-02-15",{"date":43,"type":44},"2026-02-18","ACTUAL",{"date":41,"type":23},{"date":47,"type":23},"2026-03-15",{"name":49,"class":50},"Atlas University","OTHER",{"id":52,"slug":53,"hasResults":11,"nctId":54,"briefTitle":55,"officialTitle":56,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":57,"healthyVolunteers":17,"sex":18,"minAge":19,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":58,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":24,"phases":60,"briefSummary":61,"conditions":62,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":64,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":65,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":66,"startDateStruct":68,"completionDateStruct":70,"leadSponsor":72,"locationsCount":74},"100583035","novel-sock-design-on-ankle-and-postural-stability-100583035","NCT06871085","Novel Sock Design on Ankle and Postural Stability","Effectiveness of a Novel Sock Design on Ankle and Postural Stability","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Minimum of 18 years old or older\n* Able to perform the following actions with no pain or discomfort: sit-to-stand, jump, one leg stand\n* Must read, write, and speak sufficient English in order to complete subjective questionnaire\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Had a previous foot or leg injury\n* Had a foot condition at the time of their participation in the study\n* Had feelings of instability at the ankle\n* Had an ankle injury within the past 12 months\n* Had surgery on either lower extremity in the past\n* Had any torn ligaments or cartilage at the hip, knee, or ankle\n* Experienced radicular symptoms down either lower extremity\n* Had any allergies to the sock material used in the study\n\n 1. 80% nylon\n 2. 14% polyester\n 3. 6% elastane\n* Is currently pregnant",{"count":59,"type":23},30,[26],"This study uses a prospective cohort study design using a convenience sample to explore the sock's impact on various aspects of ankle function and overall stability.
