Although obturation technique has been suggested as a contributing factor to postoperative discomfort, direct clinical comparisons between commonly used methods remain limited. Cold lateral condensation has traditionally been considered the standard obturation technique, while warm vertical obturation systems such as Obtura II have gained popularity due to their potential for improved adaptation of gutta-percha.\n\nThis randomized controlled clinical trial aims to compare postoperative pain experience and treatment outcomes following cold lateral condensation and warm vertical obturation in single-rooted necrotic teeth. Postoperative pain will be assessed during the early healing period, along with patient-reported outcomes and short-term clinical and radiographic healing. The results of this study are expected to provide clinically relevant evidence to support evidence-based obturation technique selection and improve patient comfort in endodontic practice.",[26,27],"Necrotic Pulp","Asymptomatic Apical Periodontitis","RECRUITING","2026-03-27",{"date":31,"type":32},"2026-04-02","ACTUAL",{"date":34,"type":32},"2024-10-17",{"date":36,"type":20},"2026-12-01",{"name":38,"class":39},"University of Jordan","OTHER",1,{"id":42,"slug":43,"hasResults":11,"nctId":44,"briefTitle":45,"officialTitle":46,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":47,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":48,"enrollmentInfo":49,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":21,"phases":51,"briefSummary":52,"conditions":53,"keywords":54,"overallStatus":28,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":57,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":58,"startDateStruct":60,"completionDateStruct":62,"leadSponsor":64,"locationsCount":40},"100612677","effect-of-calcium-based-bioceramic-sealer-and-resin-based-sealer-on-postoperative-pain-100612677","NCT07256691","Effect of Calcium-Based Bioceramic Sealer and Resin-Based Sealer on Postoperative Pain","Effect of Calcium-Based Bioceramic Sealer and Resin-Based Sealer on Postoperative Pain in Adults With Asymptomatic Apical Periodontitis","Inclusion Criteria:Age 18-55 years.\n\n* Both genders.\n* Teeth diagnosed with asymptomatic apical periodontitis.\n* Teeth are asymptomatic (no pain on percussion or palpation).\n* Non-vital pulp (no response on Electric Pulp Testing).\n* Teeth with fully formed apices.\n* Teeth with Periapical Index (PAI) scores 2-4 on radiographs.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Medically compromised patients (e.g., those with immunosuppressive or systemic diseases, or on medications that may affect healing).\n* Patients who refuse to participate or are unable to communicate their symptoms (e.g., due to psychological disorders).\n* Teeth where full working length cannot be reached.\n* Periodontally compromised teeth (probing depth \\>4 mm).\n* Complications during treatment (e.g., separation of a file, ledging).\n* Overfilling (filling beyond the radiographic apex) or short filling (\\>2 mm from the radiographic apex).","55 Years",{"count":50,"type":20},60,[23],"This study aims to compare the effect of calcium-based bioceramic sealer and resin-based sealer on postoperative pain in adult patients with asymptomatic apical periodontitis undergoing root canal treatment. Asymptomatic apical periodontitis is a condition where the tissue around the tip of the tooth root is inflamed or shows a lesion on X-ray, but the patient does not experience pain.\n\nA total of 60 patients will be randomly assigned to receive root canal treatment with either the bioceramic sealer (Group A) or the resin-based sealer (Group B). Pain after treatment will be measured using a 0-10 Numeric Pain Rating Scale at 4, 24, and 48 hours post-treatment.
