Almost 150,000 people in Slovenia have diabetes, so keeping a close eye on blood sugar levels is key to preventing complications. The new sensors for continuous monitoring are available over the counter and certified as medical devices. The study will include at least 100 patients who will need blood sugar monitoring during their stay in the intensive care unit. Each patient will have two small sensors placed on each upper arm to continuously measure their blood sugar levels, but these values will not be visible to medical staff. At the same time, healthcare professionals will perform routine blood sugar measurements, and researchers will then compare the accuracy of both methods. The procedure is safe and painless, and patients will receive the same quality of care as usual.",[25,26,27,28],"Diabetes Mellitus","Blood Sugar","Sepsis","Critically Ill Intensive Care Unit Patients",[30,31,32,33,34,35],"diabetes mellitus","continuous glucose monitor","blood sugar","intensive care unit","sepsis","critically ill intensive care unit patients","RECRUITING","2026-02-26",{"date":39,"type":40},"2026-03-04","ACTUAL",{"date":42,"type":40},"2026-02-18",{"date":44,"type":19},"2027-05-15",{"name":46,"class":47},"University Medical Centre Maribor","OTHER",1,{"id":50,"slug":51,"hasResults":11,"nctId":52,"briefTitle":53,"officialTitle":53,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":54,"healthyVolunteers":55,"sex":15,"minAge":16,"maxAge":56,"enrollmentInfo":57,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":20,"phases":59,"briefSummary":60,"conditions":61,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":65,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":66,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":67,"startDateStruct":69,"completionDateStruct":71,"leadSponsor":73,"locationsCount":48},"100614661","evaluation-of-vedan-rt-90-resistant-cassava-starch-for-glycemic-control-and-prebiotic-fiber-development-in-a-human-trial-100614661","NCT07282496","Evaluation of VEDAN RT-90 Resistant Cassava Starch for Glycemic Control and Prebiotic Fiber Development in a Human Trial","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Subjects aged 18-65 years.\n* Healthy subjects (BMI between 18.5-24.9 kg\u002Fm² for women and men).\n* Subjects must be able to maintain a stable diet (based on the Ministry of Health and Welfare's daily dietary guidelines, with a tolerance of ± 10-15%) and physical activity (based on the World Health Organization's recommendations of 150-300 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week, or equivalent physical activity, with a tolerance of ± 20%) during the trial period.\n* Subjects must understand the trial procedures and potential risks and benefits described in the consent form and be able to sign the consent form.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Pregnant or breastfeeding women.\n* Subjects with endocrine abnormalities, major organ disease, or mental illness (as determined by a physician).\n* Subjects found to be intolerant to the test sample during the trial.\n* Subjects who develop a disease or take medications or health supplements that could affect the results of the trial during the trial period.
