Dental caries is when the tooth surfaces break down, and if left untreated, can cause tooth pain. In routine clinical practice, dental professionals typically assess caries lesions by looking at patients' teeth, touching the areas of interest with a dental probe, and running a probe over the teeth to check the buildup of bacteria.\n\nDentists often use x-rays to help find cavities, and they can also take pictures of the teeth to show what the problem looks like.\n\nNew tools called intraoral scanners are becoming more useful for finding cavities. These scanners do not use radiation and do not hurt. Some computer programs that use artificial intelligence (AI) can also help dentists find cavities. AI can study the spots on patients' teeth and help make better, faster decisions. The purpose of this study is to collect data that will be used to develop and test an AI software that can help dentists in the detection of caries.",[25,26,27,28,29],"Caries Active","Caries Root","Caries,Dental","Caries; Initial","Caries Assessment","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2025-07-01",{"date":33,"type":34},"2025-07-02","ACTUAL",{"date":36,"type":21},"2025-07-22",{"date":38,"type":21},"2026-03-01",{"name":40,"class":41},"3Shape A\u002FS","INDUSTRY",{"id":43,"slug":44,"hasResults":11,"nctId":45,"briefTitle":46,"officialTitle":47,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":48,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":17,"minAge":49,"maxAge":50,"enrollmentInfo":51,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":4,"briefSummary":53,"conditions":54,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":30,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":56,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":57,"startDateStruct":59,"completionDateStruct":61,"leadSponsor":63,"locationsCount":4},"100570001","coronal-and-radicular-caries-prevalence-and-related-risk-factor-in-diabetic-patient-100570001","NCT06701565","Coronal and Radicular Caries Prevalence and Related Risk Factor in Diabetic Patient","Coronal and Radicular Caries Prevalence With Related Risk Factors Among Middle Age Type II Diabetic Patients Attending National Institute of Diabetes and Endocrinology: a Hospital Based Cross Sectional Study","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n1. It focuses on how poor blood sugar control, reduced saliva production, increased plaque accumulation, and periodontal disease contribute to a higher risk of dental decay in this population. The study examines the relationship between glycemic control (e.g., HbA1c levels) and the severity of caries, as well as the impact of diabetes-related changes in oral health, such as gum recession and dry mouth, on the development of both coronal and radicular caries. The findings could inform preventive strategies and dental care guidelines tailored for diabetic patients.",[27,26,55],"Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2","2024-12-02",{"date":58,"type":34},"2024-12-04",{"date":60,"type":21},"2024-12-15",{"date":62,"type":21},"2025-06-15",{"name":64,"class":65},"Cairo University","OTHER"]
