In such situations, the brain must learn to generate relevant motor commands to a sound-producing system with fixed physical characteristics, such as the vocal tract or a musical instrument.\n\nNo study has yet been able to directly test the dynamic aspect of this sensorimotor learning in an acoustic production task with fine motor control.\n\nThe Adolphe de Rothschild Foundation Hospital takes care of patients requiring awake surgery. During these procedures, a direct cortical recording, called electro-corticography, is performed in order to better delineate the tumor or epileptogenic resection area. Reference recordings are made in healthy areas at a distance from the lesion site making it possible to record normal brain activity.\n\nIn this case, we would propose to the patient to use a tool similar to the theremin (a musical instrument the size of a golf ball whose displacement in space modulates the frequency and the harmonics of a sound). The patient should therefore learn in order to create relevant motor patterns.",[24,25],"Epilepsy","Cerebral Tumor","RECRUITING","2025-12-30",{"date":29,"type":30},"2026-01-05","ACTUAL",{"date":32,"type":30},"2023-01-04",{"date":34,"type":20},"2028-03",{"name":36,"class":37},"Fondation Ophtalmologique Adolphe de Rothschild","NETWORK",1,{"id":40,"slug":41,"hasResults":11,"nctId":42,"briefTitle":43,"officialTitle":43,"acronym":44,"eligibilityCriteria":45,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":46,"enrollmentInfo":47,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":49,"phases":50,"briefSummary":52,"conditions":53,"keywords":54,"overallStatus":60,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":61,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":62,"startDateStruct":64,"completionDateStruct":66,"leadSponsor":68,"locationsCount":38},"100606045","brain-areas-of-cognitive-functions-a-study-in-awake-surgery-100606045","NCT07170436","Brain Areas of Cognitive Functions: a Study in Awake Surgery","BRAIN-MAP","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patients with a brain tumor\n* Aged 18 to 75 years\n* Signed informed consent\n* Vision that is corrected or adequate for the purposes of an experiment with visual stimuli\n* Hearing that is corrected or adequate for the purposes of an experiment with auditory stimuli\n* No known oculomotor disorder\n* Person affiliated with or benefiting from a social security scheme.\n* Free, informed, and written consent signed by the participant and the investigator (no later than the day of inclusion and before any examination required by the research)\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Participants under protected status: guardianship, legal safeguard proceedings, or whose consent to participate in the experiment could be due to a severely altered psychological state, as determined by the medical team responsible for the surgery.\n* History of neurological disease affecting the central nervous system (Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, history of stroke or cerebral infarction)\n* Pregnant and\u002For breastfeeding women.","75 Years",{"count":48,"type":20},120,"INTERVENTIONAL",[51],"NA","This research project focuses on low-level cognitive functions such as perception (auditory, visual, etc.) and high-level cognitive functions (memory, language, temporal estimation, etc.).
