Multidomain trials show that lifestyle changes can improve cognitive function and reduce dementia risk (like the FINGER trial). The REMINDER program, a Portuguese-based dementia risk reduction protocol, was developed for community-dwelling older adults aged 55 and above. However, older adults in Residential and Daycare Facilities (RDF) have distinct needs that demand program adaptation to ensure its relevance and effectiveness. In addition, more studies are needed to evaluate the impact of multidomain interventions with older adults in RDF.\n\nTo address these challenges, the REMINDER4Care program was developed as a tailored, multidomain intervention to reduce dementia risk. It emphasizes social and cognitive engagement and advances its adaptation and evaluation in Residential and Daycare Facilities (RDF). To assess efficacy, the investigators will perform a Randomized Controlled Trial.",[27,28,29],"Dementia Risk Factors","Prevention","Cognitive Health",[27,28,31,32,33,34],"Health","Aging","Residential and Daycare Facilities","Lifestyle","RECRUITING","2026-04-27",{"date":38,"type":39},"2026-05-01","ACTUAL",{"date":41,"type":39},"2025-05-01",{"date":43,"type":21},"2026-12-31",{"name":45,"class":46},"University of Coimbra","OTHER",1,{"id":49,"slug":50,"hasResults":11,"nctId":51,"briefTitle":52,"officialTitle":53,"acronym":54,"eligibilityCriteria":55,"healthyVolunteers":16,"sex":17,"minAge":56,"maxAge":57,"enrollmentInfo":58,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":60,"briefSummary":62,"conditions":63,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":35,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":65,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":66,"startDateStruct":68,"completionDateStruct":70,"leadSponsor":72,"locationsCount":75},"100569566","phase-4-modulation-of-the-brain-fog-scale-by-eicosapentaenoic-acid-monoglycerides-mag-epa-100569566","NCT06695910","Modulation of the Brain Fog Scale by Eicosapentaenoic Acid Monoglycerides (MAG-EPA).","Modulation of the Brain Fog Scale by Eicosapentaenoic Acid Monoglycerides (MAG-EPA) in Volunteers Who Reported Suffering From Haze or Mental Fatigue on a Regular Basis. Brain fog is a term that has been popularized in the medical world in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. A significant proportion of patients with long COVID reported having cognitive sequelae that were like fogginess. It is defined as a cognitive impairment with characteristic symptoms including problems with concentration, attention and memory, confusion, difficulty understanding what others are saying, reduced mental acuity and mental fatigue. These are episodes of reduced cognitive capacity that are not representative of the person's normal state. This condition can be caused by various factors such as stress, lack of sleep, overwork, depression, hormonal changes due to pregnancy or menopause in women, head injuries, migraine, certain diseases or viral infections, certain medications as well as substance abuse (alcohol and\u002For street drugs). The programme will explore how lifestyle, environment, genetics, and social factors influence healthy ageing and overall wellbeing.\n\nThe programme will recruit participants aged 12 years and older across the UK. By including adolescents, the programme aims to understand how early life behaviours and experiences shape long-term health. There is no upper age limit, and people from all backgrounds are encouraged to participate. Special pathways ensure that young participants provide consent in an age-appropriate way.\n\nHealthspan Connect is a digital and home-based study, meaning participants can take part from home using smartphones, computers, and online surveys. Participants may also be asked to collect samples such as blood, saliva, stool, urine, or other biological specimens at home using easy-to-use kits. In some sub-studies, participants may be invited to attend research visits for additional tests, scans, or clinical assessments. Family members and close contacts may also be invited to participate in some studies.\n\nThrough Healthspan Connect, researchers aim to:\n\n* Identify the biological, environmental, and social factors that help people live longer, healthier lives.\n* Understand how different groups, including those historically underrepresented in research, experience ageing.\n* Explore ways to support behaviour changes that improve health over the lifespan.\n* Provide near real-time information to inform health policies and interventions.\n\nParticipants may also be asked for permission to link their information with health records, education records, and environmental data to better understand health outcomes over time.\n\nThis programme will serve as a flexible platform for multiple sub-studies, allowing participants to contribute to a wide range of research questions related to healthy ageing, resilience, and long-term health. All data and biological samples will be stored securely and used to advance scientific knowledge, with participant privacy carefully protected.",[88,89,90,91,29,92,93,94,95,96,97,98,99,100,101],"Cancer","Mental Health","Ageing Well","Resilience","Psychological Health","Environmental Health Effects","Cardiovascular Health","Metabolic Health","Neurological Health","Musculoskeletal Health","Respiratory Health","Allergies","Eye Health","Other",[103,104,105,106,107,108,109,110,111,112,113,114,115,116,117,118,119,120,121,122,123,124],"Healthy ageing","Healthspan","Longevity","Ageing resilience","Life course determinants","Multiple long-term conditions","Digital health research","Remote monitoring","Mobile health (mHealth)","Wearables","Biobank","Biological specimen collection","Home-based sample collection","Epidemiology","Longitudinal cohort study","Adolescents and ageing","Underrepresented populations in research","Behaviour change","Environmental exposures","Data linkage","Electronic health records (EHR)","United Kingdom","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2025-09-29",{"date":128,"type":39},"2025-10-07",{"date":130,"type":21},"2026-01-05",{"date":132,"type":21},"2056-01-05",{"name":134,"class":46},"King's College London"]
