Its antinociceptive effect is related to antagonizing NMDA (N-methyl-D-aspartate) receptors of the nervous system, has an anti-inflammatory effect by reducing the concentration of IL-6 (interleukin 6) and tumor necrosis factor alpha. In adult patients, the need for morphine in the perioperative period is reduced when magnesium infusion is used. In current guidelines for treatment of acute pain in children, magnesium sulfate may be considered as a co-analgetic. However, the strength of such a recommendation is low due to the lack of reliable scientific research confirming the effectiveness of magnesium infusion in the pediatric population. The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of intravenous magnesium sulfate infusion on the opioid consumption, the circulatory, metabolic and hormonal response to intubation and surgical trauma during anesthesia for laparoscopic appendectomy in children.",[65,66,67,26],"Opioid Consumption","Multimodal Analgesia","Acute Appendicitis",[69,70,71,72,73,74,75,76,77],"multimodal analgesia","magnesium sulfate","laparoscopic appendectomy","children","pediatric population","adjuvant","metabolic stress response","hormonal response","inflammatory response","2024-11-09",{"date":80,"type":41},"2024-11-12",{"date":82,"type":41},"2024-09-09",{"date":84,"type":20},"2027-10-01",{"name":86,"class":48},"Medical University of Warsaw",{"id":88,"slug":89,"hasResults":11,"nctId":90,"briefTitle":91,"officialTitle":92,"acronym":93,"eligibilityCriteria":94,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":95,"targetDuration":97,"studyType":21,"phases":4,"briefSummary":98,"conditions":99,"keywords":107,"overallStatus":37,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":112,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":113,"startDateStruct":115,"completionDateStruct":117,"leadSponsor":119,"locationsCount":49},"100550779","knee-osteoarthritis-in-the-region-of-norrbotten-100550779","NCT06451510","Knee Osteoarthritis in the Region of Norrbotten","Knee Osteoarthritis in the Region of Norrbotten (KORN)","KORN","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patients from the region of Norrbotten (northern part of Sweden) who underwent tibial plateau fracture between the years of 2001 and 2015\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Death without bilateral weighted X-ray minimum 5 years post injury\n* Open growth plate in distal femur and\u002For proximal tibia\n* Extraarticular or isolated eminentia fracture\n* OA prior to injury\n* Having a rheumatic disorder involving joints\n* Earlier and\u002For later severe injury to the index knee\n* Having cognitive disorders disqualifying from the study",{"count":96,"type":20},500,"10 Years","The goal of this observational study is to assess the prevalence of radiographic knee osteoarthritis and to report medium and long term functional outcomes secondary to tibia plateau fractures.
