Against the backdrop of accelerating aging in China, the incidence of age-related chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs), such as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and chronic respiratory diseases, has risen remarkably. These diseases are characterized by multiple comorbidities, high disability rates, and high mortality rates, severely compromising the quality of life of older adults, exacerbating family burdens, and straining healthcare systems. This constitutes one of the major challenges faced by aging societies. Therefore, early detection and intervention of chronic diseases in older adults are critical measures to address population aging.\n\nComprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA), a core specialty of geriatric medicine, serves as a fundamental framework for the clinical identification of geriatric syndromes and multidisciplinary management. It is emerging as a key pathway to promote \"healthy aging.\" Guided by this premise, this study aims to explore the application value of CGA in managing chronic diseases among older adults, with the goal of achieving full-cycle management for early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic conditions in China's elderly population.",[27,87,88],"Chronic Disease Management","Older Adults (65 Years and Older)",[27,87,90],"Older Adults","2025-06-14",{"date":93,"type":33},"2025-06-24",{"date":95,"type":20},"2025-07-01",{"date":97,"type":20},"2030-05-01",{"name":99,"class":40},"Henan Provincial People's Hospital",{"id":101,"slug":102,"hasResults":11,"nctId":103,"briefTitle":104,"officialTitle":104,"acronym":105,"eligibilityCriteria":106,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":49,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":107,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":21,"phases":109,"briefSummary":110,"conditions":111,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":63,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":132,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":133,"startDateStruct":135,"completionDateStruct":137,"leadSponsor":139,"locationsCount":141},"100493872","the-save-project-sarcopenia-and-vertigo-in-aging-patients-with-colorectal-cancer-100493872","NCT05710809","The SaVe Project-Sarcopenia and Vertigo in Aging Patients With Colorectal Cancer","SaVe","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Meet the criteria of the oncological departments of receiving neoadjuvant, adjuvant or first line palliative chemotherapy for colorectal cancer\n* ≥65 years of age at the time of signing the informed consent form\n* Able to speak and read Danish, and to provide a signed informed consent form\n* Have an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status score of ≤2\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Chemotherapy treatment within two years and sequelae of neuropathy, or symptoms of dizziness or vertigo, or balance disturbance\n* Severe physical disability that hinders physical exercise\n* Dementia, psychotic disorders, or other cognitive diseases or conditions that hinder participation in a clinical exercise-based trial\n* Inability to sign informed content\n* Patients who have had a consultation in the geriatric outpatient clinic within the past six months",{"count":108,"type":20},150,[23],"The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about the cause of dizziness and decline in walking ability in in older adults ≥65 years during chemotherapy treatment for colorectal cancer. This initiative engages university students, healthcare professionals, and older adults (60+) in a participatory, intergenerational approach that fosters mutual learning and community engagement.\n\nThe study follows a non-experimental mixed-method design, involving students from Nursing, Physiotherapy, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, and Psychology. Participants include older adults (60+) who can independently travel to the university.\n\nThe project is integrated into different subjects, in groups of 4-5 students, participants conduct a Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA), evaluating frailty using VIG-Frail, intrinsic capacity with ICOPE, quality of life with EUROQOL 5D-5L, and specific health indicators with Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC).\n\nTo assess the program's effectiveness, several outcome measures will be analyzed including students' perceived knowledge, competencies, and skills, as well as older adults' awareness of their health status, lifestyle, and risk factors. Additionally, the satisfaction levels of both will be evaluated. The items will be evaluated using a 1-5 Likert Scale, and the analysis will be conducted with SPSS. Data recording will be carried out through REDCap.\n\nThe GEROS Project aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). By offering care to the aging population and providing them with personalized health recommendations, the project promotes preventive strategies, active aging, and intergenerational learning.\n\nFurthermore, GEROS integrates innovative educational methodologies, encouraging experiential learning, collaboration with healthcare professionals, and the development of practical skills in real-world contexts. The program's scalability and adaptability could serve as a model for other universities and healthcare institutions aiming to enhance geriatric care through service-learning initiatives.",[154,155,27,156,157,158,159],"Frailty","Older People","Health Promotion","SERVICE LEARNING","Students","Student Education","2025-03-19",{"date":162,"type":33},"2025-03-24",{"date":164,"type":33},"2024-11-11",{"date":166,"type":20},"2025-12-20",{"name":168,"class":40},"University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia"]
