This laboratory-based (in vitro) study aims to develop and evaluate a novel directly 3D-printed orthodontic aligner resin modified with antimicrobial and remineralizing agents.\n\nThe study will investigate the incorporation of dimethylaminohexadecyl methacrylate (DMAHDM) as an antibacterial agent and amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) as a remineralizing component into a 3D-printed aligner resin. Modified and unmodified resin specimens will be fabricated and assessed for antimicrobial activity, ion release, and enamel remineralization potential using extracted human teeth.\n\nIn addition, the mechanical and physical properties of the experimental aligner materials, including shape memory behavior, deflection, tensile strength, translucency, and water sorption, will be evaluated to ensure clinical suitability.\n\nThis study does not involve human participants and is conducted entirely in vitro. The findings are expected to contribute to the development of biofunctional orthodontic aligners that actively inhibit bacterial growth and support enamel health without compromising material performance",[26,27,28,29],"Orthodontic Aligner Material","Enamel Demineralization","Dental Biofilm Formation","Clear Aligner Material Properties","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-05-15",{"date":33,"type":34},"2026-05-22","ACTUAL",{"date":36,"type":20},"2026-06-01",{"date":38,"type":20},"2027-02-01",{"name":40,"class":41},"University of Baghdad","OTHER",1,{"id":44,"slug":45,"hasResults":11,"nctId":46,"briefTitle":47,"officialTitle":48,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":49,"healthyVolunteers":50,"sex":17,"minAge":51,"maxAge":52,"enrollmentInfo":53,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":21,"phases":55,"briefSummary":56,"conditions":57,"keywords":59,"overallStatus":30,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":62,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":63,"startDateStruct":65,"completionDateStruct":66,"leadSponsor":68,"locationsCount":42},"100615378","a-novel-remineralizing-self-etch-primer-for-orthodontic-bracket-bonding-100615378","NCT07291830","A Novel Remineralizing Self-Etch Primer for Orthodontic Bracket Bonding","Clinical Effectiveness of a Remineralizing Self-Etch Primer for Orthodontic Bracket Bonding: A Randomized Clinical Trial","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Full permanent dentition including incisors, canines, premolars, and molars (excepting 3rd molars;\n* Teeth with sound, non-carious buccal enamel and no pretreatment with chemical agents such as hydrogen peroxide,\n* No previous orthodontic treatment with fixed appliances.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Participants unable to give informed consent,\n* Had craniofacial anomalies,\n* Require orthognathic surgery as part of their treatment,\n* Had congenital enamel defects.",true,"12 Years","35 Years",{"count":54,"type":20},45,[23],"This randomized clinical trial aims to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of a remineralizing self-etch primer used for orthodontic bracket bonding.
