With this registry we hope to find out more about the symptoms that patients have during their treatment, the quality of life they have with the diagnosis, what the disease looks like throughout the different treatment methods, and if there is a connection between EGIDs and connective tissue disorders.

The goal of this study is to be able to better understand EGIDs and use information gained from all the information collected on this study for more precise treatments in the future. We want to create a large collection of samples, called a biorepository, to learn the most about EGIDs as possible. When the samples are collected, which will occur at procedures directed by your child's doctor as part of their standard of care, they will be stored for an unlimited amount of time to perform experiments on these samples and to gather information about EGIDs",[25,26,27,28],"Eosinophilic Esophagitis","Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis","Eosinophilic Colitis","Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disease","RECRUITING","2026-03-16
2026-03-18","ACTUAL
2020-12-18
2035-12
Ann & Robert H Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago","OTHER",1
"100249239","omega-outcome-measures-in-eosinophilic-gastrointestinal-disorders-across-the-ages-100249239","NCT02523118","OMEGA: Outcome Measures in Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders Across the Ages","A Prospective, Multicenter Study to Compare and Validate Endoscopic, Histologic, Molecular, and Patient-Reported Outcomes in Pediatric and Adult Patients With Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE), Gastritis (EoG), Enteritis (EoN) and Colitis (EoC)","OMEGA","Inclusion Criteria:

* Males or females 3 years of age and older
* Mucosal eosinophilia:

EoE ≥ 15 eosinophils/HPF in the distal or proximal esophagus EoG ≥ 30 eosinophils/HPF in 5 HPF\\'s in the body and/or antrum EoN ≥ 53 eosinophils/HPF in the duodenum and/or ≥ 56 eosinophils/HPF in the jejunum and/or ileum EoC ≥ 84 eosinophils/HPF from the transverse or descending colon and/or ≥ 32 eosinophils/HPF from the rectosigmoid colon or a biopsy from any colonic location with ≥ 100 eosinophils/HPF

\\- Presence of symptoms is required for patients who are newly diagnosed but not required for patients who were previously diagnosed.

Exclusion Criteria:

* History of intestinal surgery other than G tube placement
* Enrolled in a blinded investigational study at the time of the first study visit
* Have esophageal stricture (\\<3mm)
* Have other identifiable causes for eosinophilia (except Inflammatory Bowel Disease): infections, Gastrointestinal (GI) cancer, other GI inflammatory disease (e.g., Ulcerative Colitis or Crohn\\'s Disease)","3 Years
1350,"The purpose of this observational study is to find the best measures to define how well a person with eosinophilic disorder is doing. Based on the anatomical site involved, EGIDs are distinguished into eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) and non-esophageal forms, which are subdivided into eosinophilic gastritis (EoG), gastroenteritis (EoGE), and colitis (EoC). EoE is considered the prototype of EGIDs. Since the first description of a case series of patients with EoE, fundamental scientific advances have been achieved, culminating in the redaction of international diagnostic and therapeutic guidelines. In contrast to EoE, non-esophageal forms of EGIDs are still a clinical enigma with evidence limited to a few retrospective studies. In the last decade, an increase in the prevalence of EGIDs has been observed in the pediatric age. Unfortunately, the epidemiology of EGIDs in Italy is still inconsistent and clear estimates are not available.

Firstly, this study will allow us to assess and clarify several clinical and epidemiological aspects of pediatric EGIDs, in particular:

1. prevalence and incidence of pediatric EGIDs in Italy,
2. the clinical features and potential phenotypes of pediatric EGIDs with potential impact on therapy and management,
3. diagnostic work-up and adherence to the EoE international guidelines to improve the management, quality of care, and quality of life of affected patients.

This study has no ethical problems since EoE patients are treated according to international guidelines and those with non-esophageal EGIDs according to the latest scientific evidence.",[80,25,81,27],"Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders","Eosinophilic Gastritis or Gastroenteritis",[83,84,85,86],"Eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders","Children","Prevalence","Incidence","2024-07-24
2024-07-25
2022-01-20
2027-01-31
Fondazione IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo di Pavia"]
