Among the treatments proposed in the literature, both focal shockwave therapy and radial shockwave therapy have been considered effective in the management of this musculoskeletal disorder. The objective of this study is to compare the safety and effectiveness of these two shockwave applications on the signs and symptoms of subjects with lateral epicondylalgia. In this clinical trial, subjects will be evaluated for elbow pain using a Visual Analog Scale (VAS), grip strength using a handheld dynamometer, and degree of disability using the Patient-Rated Tennis Elbow Evaluation Questionnaire (PRTEE). A six-month follow-up will be performed.\n\nPatients will be randomly divided into three groups. The first group will receive radial shock waves (rESWT), the second group will receive focal shock waves (fESWT), and the third group, which will act as a control, will receive a placebo treatment with very low energy parameters according to the literature.\n\nSubjects will receive three sessions, one session per week.",[27,28],"Epicondylitis of the Elbow","Epicondylitis, Lateral","RECRUITING","2026-06-01",{"date":32,"type":33},"2026-06-02","ACTUAL",{"date":35,"type":33},"2025-03-12",{"date":37,"type":21},"2027-06-20",{"name":39,"class":40},"University of Alcala","OTHER",1,{"id":43,"slug":44,"hasResults":11,"nctId":45,"briefTitle":46,"officialTitle":46,"acronym":47,"eligibilityCriteria":48,"healthyVolunteers":49,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":50,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":52,"briefSummary":53,"conditions":54,"keywords":63,"overallStatus":29,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":67,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":68,"startDateStruct":70,"completionDateStruct":72,"leadSponsor":74,"locationsCount":41},"100610737","platelet-rich-plasma-for-musculoskeletal-conditions-100610737","NCT07231471","Platelet Rich Plasma for Musculoskeletal Conditions","PRP for MSK","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* 18+ years old\n* Musculoskeletal pathology that may benefit from a PRP injection\n* Failed other conservative treatments\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* No active malignancy\n* No active infection in the area of injection\n* No platelet disorder\n* No active systemic infections\n* No patients currently undergoing dialysis",true,{"count":51,"type":21},10000,[24],"The primary purpose of this study is to follow patients with various musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions over a one-year follow-up period after receiving a platelet rich plasma (PRP) injection, assessing changes in their pain levels, functional abilities, and overall patient satisfaction.\n\nThis will develop a robust registry of patients treated with PRP for a range of MSK conditions.
