Although previous studies have suggested the potential benefits of EFT in general anxiety and postoperative psychological outcomes, evidence regarding its effectiveness in patients undergoing thyroid surgery is limited. Thyroid surgery is associated with unique sources of preoperative anxiety and fear due to potential complications related to voice, swallowing, and hormonal balance.\n\nThis randomized controlled study aims to evaluate the effect of Emotional Freedom Technique on preoperative anxiety and fear in patients undergoing thyroid surgery. Eligible patients will be randomly assigned to an intervention group receiving EFT in addition to standard preoperative nursing care or to a control group receiving standard preoperative nursing care alone. EFT will be administered by trained nurses following a standardized protocol during the preoperative period. Anxiety and fear levels will be assessed using validated measurement tools before and after the intervention. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to evidence-based nursing practices and to support the integration of complementary interventions into perioperative nursing care.",[27,28,29],"Preoperative Anxiety","Fear and Anxiety","Thyroid Surgery","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-03-05",{"date":33,"type":34},"2026-03-06","ACTUAL",{"date":36,"type":21},"2026-02-09",{"date":38,"type":21},"2026-07",{"name":40,"class":41},"Saglik Bilimleri Universitesi","OTHER",1,{"id":44,"slug":45,"hasResults":11,"nctId":46,"briefTitle":47,"officialTitle":48,"acronym":49,"eligibilityCriteria":50,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":17,"minAge":51,"maxAge":52,"enrollmentInfo":53,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":55,"briefSummary":56,"conditions":57,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":30,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":59,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":60,"startDateStruct":62,"completionDateStruct":64,"leadSponsor":66,"locationsCount":4},"100608508","virtual-reality-for-pain-fear-and-physiological-responses-during-pediatric-venous-catheterization-100608508","NCT07202468","Virtual Reality for Pain, Fear, and Physiological Responses During Pediatric Venous Catheterization","\"The Effect of Two Different Applications Shown With Virtual Reality Glasses During Peripheral Venous Catheterization on Pain, Fear, and Physiological Parameters in Children\"","VR-PainKids","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Children aged 7-12 years\n* Scheduled for day surgery in the pediatric surgery unit\n* Undergoing first-time peripheral intravenous catheterization in the clinic\n* Both child and parent provide informed consent\u002Fassent to participate\n* Child and parent have no speech or visual impairment\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Children younger than 7 or older than 12 years\n* Not scheduled for day surgery in the pediatric surgery unit\n* Child or parent declining participation\n* Presence of speech or visual impairment in child or parent","7 Years","12 Years",{"count":54,"type":21},150,[24],"This study aims to evaluate the effect of two different virtual reality (VR) applications on children's pain, fear, and physiological parameters during peripheral intravenous catheterization. Children between the ages of 7 and 12 who are scheduled for day surgery in the pediatric surgery unit will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: (1) Aquarium VR video, (2) Kaleidoscope VR video, or (3) routine care control group.\n\nVR interventions will begin 2-3 minutes before the procedure and will continue throughout catheter insertion. The primary outcomes will include pain and fear levels measured by validated pediatric scales, while secondary outcomes will focus on physiological parameters such as heart rate, respiratory rate, body temperature, and oxygen saturation.\n\nThe purpose of this research is to determine whether distraction with VR technology can reduce procedural pain and fear in children, improve their cooperation during invasive procedures, and support atraumatic care practices in pediatric nursing.",[58,28],"Pain Management","2025-09-29",{"date":61,"type":34},"2025-10-01",{"date":63,"type":21},"2025-11-01",{"date":65,"type":21},"2026-02-01",{"name":67,"class":41},"Ege University"]
