The main question it aims to answer are:\n\n• It's SDF more accepted and effective than ART in early childhood caries management when implemented at the community level?\n\nParticipants will be diagnosed by an experienced and calibrated dentist using the International Caries Detection and Assessment System (ICDAS), then children with decayed teeth will be treated with SDF (experimental) or ART (control); another operator will choose randomly the treatment for each participant. Furthermore, oral health education component will be given to children, parents and educators.\n\nFollow-up visits will be made at 6 and 12 months after child's treatment is complete. Before and after treatment parents will be asked to complete a child personal background survey (before), Early Childhood Oral Health Impact Scale (ECOHIS) questionnaire (before and at follow-ups) and a oral health satisfaction survey (one week after treatment and at follow-ups). The acceptability will be assessed through quantitative and qualitative methods.\n\nResearchers will compare the SDF's groups and the ART's group to see which of them is more accepted and effective.",[28,29],"Early Childhood Caries","Health Care Acceptability",[28,31,32],"Silver Diamine Fluoride","Atraumatic Restorative Treatment","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2025-12-04",{"date":36,"type":37},"2025-12-12","ACTUAL",{"date":39,"type":22},"2025-12-15",{"date":41,"type":22},"2027-02-28",{"name":43,"class":44},"Universidad de La Frontera","OTHER",1,{"id":47,"slug":48,"hasResults":11,"nctId":49,"briefTitle":50,"officialTitle":51,"acronym":52,"eligibilityCriteria":53,"healthyVolunteers":54,"sex":55,"minAge":56,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":57,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":23,"phases":59,"briefSummary":60,"conditions":61,"keywords":71,"overallStatus":79,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":80,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":81,"startDateStruct":83,"completionDateStruct":85,"leadSponsor":87,"locationsCount":45},"100592937","enhanced-mentor-mother-strategy-for-pregnant-and-postpartum-women-living-with-hiv-100592937","NCT06999928","Enhanced Mentor Mother Strategy for Pregnant and Postpartum Women Living With HIV","Pilot Implementation-Effectiveness Study of an Enhanced Mentor Mother Strategy","PIE-eMMs","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Pregnant and postpartum women living with HIV (and their infants born during the study)\n* ≥18 years of age\n* Enrolled in PMTCT services at BFSDH\n* Able to understand and provide informed consent in English or Kiswahili\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Women who are not pregnant or postpartum\n* \\\u003C18 years of age\n* Not enrolled in PMTCT services at BFSDH\n* Unable to understand and provide informed consent in English or Kiswahili\n* Cognitive impairment that would interfere with ability to participate in the study",true,"FEMALE","18 Years",{"count":58,"type":22},200,[25],"Mentor Mothers (MMs) are peer supporters who help pregnant and postpartum women living with HIV (WLHIV) as they receive prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV (PMTCT) services in resource-limited settings like Kenya. Differentiated service delivery (DSD) is a care model that tailors services based on clients' needs, helping to improve both the quality and efficiency of care.\n\nThis hybrid implementation-effectiveness study will test whether an enhanced MM strategy that uses DSD can be successfully carried out and improve health outcomes for mothers and infants. The study will take place at Burnt Forest Sub-District Hospital (BFSDH) in Kenya.\n\nResearchers will ask:\n\n* Can the enhanced MM strategy be delivered as planned and accepted by patients and staff?\n* Does the strategy improve clinical outcomes like keeping mothers in PMTCT care, achieving HIV viral suppression, completing infant HIV testing, and preventing HIV transmission to infants? Researchers will compare health outcomes before and after the strategy is introduced at BFSDH, and also compare outcomes at other similar clinics that continue with standard MM services.\n\nWomen who choose to participate will meet with a MM during their routine antenatal and postnatal clinic visits.
