At Nice University Hospital, we are conducting a retrospective study showing a 22% infection rate associated with EVD. The identified pathogens are mainly transmitted by manual contact. Additionnally, high turnover among paramedical staff and sometimes rapid training may contribute to infection ocurrence. We hypothesize that a significant proportion of patients with EVD develop nosocomial ventriculitis, primarily due to modificable risk factors such as catheter handling and breaches in aseptic technique.",[25],"Health Care Associated Infection","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-05-26",{"date":29,"type":30},"2026-06-02","ACTUAL",{"date":32,"type":21},"2026-06-01",{"date":34,"type":21},"2028-12-01",{"name":36,"class":37},"Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Nice","OTHER",{"id":39,"slug":40,"hasResults":11,"nctId":41,"briefTitle":42,"officialTitle":43,"acronym":44,"eligibilityCriteria":45,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":17,"minAge":18,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":46,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":48,"phases":49,"briefSummary":51,"conditions":52,"keywords":53,"overallStatus":55,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":56,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":57,"startDateStruct":59,"completionDateStruct":61,"leadSponsor":63,"locationsCount":65},"100555595","water-hygiene-versus-waterless-hygiene-technology-for-totally-dependent-hospitalized-patients-100555595","NCT06514131","Water Hygiene Versus Waterless Hygiene Technology for Totally Dependent Hospitalized Patients","Evaluation of the Effectiveness of a Waterless Hygiene Technology for Totally Dependent Hospitalized Patients: A Randomized Controlled Study","IGIENE-FAST","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patients over 18 years of age inclusive at the time of the study;\n* Patients admitted to medical or geriatric wards with scheduled or urgent hospitalization;\n* Hypothesis of hospitalization of at least 48 hours\n* Totally dependent patients who are bedridden and unable to independently provide for their own personal hygiene.\n* Patient-oriented in time and space\u002Fcognitively cooperative.\n* Acquisition of written informed consent.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patients who have performed perineal hygiene with wipes or other methods containing antiseptic solutions in the 12-24 hours preceding the execution of the swab for the bacteriological examination.\n* Patients who have undergone a treatment procedure in the groin and\u002For perineal area that required skin antisepsis (e.g. femoral blood sampling, bladder catheter insertion, etc.).\n* Patients with known allergies to one of the components of the products used.\n* Patients diagnosed with dermatological pathologies.\n* Patients colonized or infected with microorganisms transmissible by contact.\n* Patients in bowel cleansing preparation for diagnostic procedures e therapeutic.\n* Patients with diarrheal bowel.\n* Patients hospitalized on Saturdays and Sundays due to the difficulty of illustrating information and acquiring informed consent since healthcare professionals are small in number.\n* Patient enrolled and then transferred to another ward or discharged before 48 hours.",{"count":47,"type":21},648,"INTERVENTIONAL",[50],"NA","The aim of this randomized controlled trial is to verify whether the efficacy of perineal hygiene procedures performed in dependent patients admitted to medical or geriatric wards with pre-moistened wipes without water is higher than that found after procedures performed with disposable hand grips, soap, and water.",[25],[54],"hygiene","RECRUITING","2024-07-16",{"date":58,"type":30},"2024-07-23",{"date":60,"type":30},"2024-02-20",{"date":62,"type":21},"2024-12-20",{"name":64,"class":37},"IRCCS Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria di Bologna",5,{"id":67,"slug":68,"hasResults":11,"nctId":69,"briefTitle":70,"officialTitle":71,"acronym":72,"eligibilityCriteria":73,"healthyVolunteers":16,"sex":17,"minAge":18,"maxAge":74,"enrollmentInfo":75,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":4,"briefSummary":77,"conditions":78,"keywords":83,"overallStatus":55,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":88,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":89,"startDateStruct":91,"completionDateStruct":93,"leadSponsor":95,"locationsCount":97},"100497387","prevalence-of-latent-tuberculosis-infection-in-health-care-workers-and-students-100497387","NCT05756582","Prevalence of Latent Tuberculosis Infection in Health-care Workers and Students","Cross-sectional Study on Prevalence of Latent Tuberculosis Infection in Health-care Workers and Students.
