In 2020, an estimate 260,000 deaths were attributable to HCV globally, nearly 80,000 of which occurred in Europe, mainly due to complications such as cirrhosis or hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).\n\nThe CARTO-VHC study is a retrospective, observational, multicenter study based on data and samples collected during routine care from 2023 to 2024. The study does not involve direct human participation. The study aims to describe the different genotypes and subtypes of the hepatitis C virus, including unusual subtypes, in a large population of newly diagnosed HCV-positive patients. This will help identify the most common types circulating in France. Additionally, the study will provide a comprehensive understanding of therapeutic failures and drug resistance to direct-acting antivirals (DAA) in treated patients.",[25,26,27,28,29],"Hepatitis C Virus","Mutation Abnormality","RNA Positive","Unusual Subtype","Resistance","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-05-15",{"date":33,"type":34},"2026-05-19","ACTUAL",{"date":36,"type":21},"2026-06-01",{"date":38,"type":21},"2029-03",{"name":40,"class":41},"Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris","OTHER",1,{"id":44,"slug":45,"hasResults":11,"nctId":46,"briefTitle":47,"officialTitle":48,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":49,"healthyVolunteers":50,"sex":17,"minAge":18,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":51,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":53,"phases":54,"briefSummary":56,"conditions":57,"keywords":66,"overallStatus":30,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":70,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":71,"startDateStruct":73,"completionDateStruct":75,"leadSponsor":77,"locationsCount":42},"100574980","integrated-care-versus-usual-care-for-opioid-use-disorder-and-infectious-diseases-in-veterans-100574980","NCT06766331","Integrated Care Versus Usual Care for Opioid Use Disorder and Infectious Diseases in Veterans","Integrating Infectious Diseases Screening and Treatment With Medication Assisted Therapy for Veterans With Opioid Use Disorder","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* US Veteran\n* Able to provide written informed consent in English\n* Living in the community (Nassau, Suffolk, Kings, Queens, Bronx, Westchester, Rockland counties, NY)\n* Documented diagnosis of moderate to severe opioid use disorder\n* Seeking care at the Northport VA substance use disorder clinic for opioid use disorder treatment\n* Willing to have HIV, HBV, HCV, or bacterial STI testing to determine negative or positive status\n* Persons who test negative for HIV need to meet CDC PrEP eligibility criteria in the 6 months prior to enrollment\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Severe medical or psychiatric disability making participation unsafe\n* Unable to provide written consent\n* PrEP exclusion: HIV positive test; HBV positive test",true,{"count":52,"type":21},60,"INTERVENTIONAL",[55],"NA","Opioid use disorder (OUD) confers a higher risk of acquiring and transmitting infectious diseases, which may have long-term health consequences in Veterans.
